Senior Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective: The Senior Accountant is responsible for Senior Accountant duties on a professional level and works closely with House of Spices Inc., Senior Management and staff in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas of House of Spices Inc., India. Essential Functions - Review GL entries - Reconcile Monthly accounting entries - Close transactions monthly - USA and Canada - GAAP - Preparing monthly balance sheet, income statement and performing variance analyses. - Preparing and maintaining balance sheet account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies. - Oversee accurate and appropriate recordings and analysis of revenues and expenses. - Reconciliation of Bank accounts - Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. - Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit. - Responsible for analysis of product costs, inventories, cost reduction opportunities and manufacturing variance. - Assisting in the design and preparation of budgets for review by management. - Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes. - Must have advanced excel skills. Competency - Teamwork. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting. - Problem Solving - Relationship Management. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30pm to 4:30 am. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel No travel is expected for this position. Preferred Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree in Accounting & Finance or equivalent qualification - Eight years of related experience - Reliable and detail oriented. - Excellent communication and people skills. - Aptitude in problem-solving. - Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach. - Working with start-up environment.
