Document Analysis Review and interpret project blueprints technical drawings specifications and other documents to understand the project scope Cost Estimation Calculate prepare and present detailed cost estimates for labor materials equipment and other project-related expenses Research Bidding Research new construction methods and materials obtain quotes from vendors and subcontractors and analyze bid proposals to select the most cost-effective options Stakeholder Collaboration Work closely with clients architects engineers project managers and contractors to formulate estimates and address project requirements Cost Control Develop and manage project budgets monitor actual costs against estimates and implement cost-saving measures Risk Assessment Identify potential risks perform risk assessments and incorporate safety and health requirements into the estimates Reporting Prepare and submit progress reports and cost tracking reports for management and stakeholders Skills Qualifications Technical Skills Proficiency in using cost estimating software and the ability to develop cost models Analytical Skills Strong ability to analyze complex data and technical documentation to produce accurate estimates Communication Skills Excellent communication skills to effectively discuss project costs with internal teams and external stakeholders Industry Knowledge Deep understanding of construction processes materials and market pricing Professional Background A background in civil engineering construction management or a related field is often required Goal of the RoleThe primary goal of a civil engineer estimator is to ensure that a construction project can be completed on time and within the allocated budget by providing accurate and comprehensive financial projections Job Types Full-time Permanent Pay 12 000 00 - 15 000 00 per month
