The Role: The In-Country Representative- South Asia play a key role in implementing LSBU's international student recruitment strategy across the two markets. The role focuses on achieving student application and enrolment targets by building strong relationships with education agents, partner institutions, schools, and prospective students. The postholder will represent LSBU at recruitment events, deliver training to partners, provide market insights, and support conversion activities throughout the student journey. This is a target-driven role requiring excellent relationship management, communication, and organisational skills, alongside a deep understanding of the higher education landscape in India About London South Bank University (LSBU): London South Bank University (LSBU) is a leading public university located in the heart of London, with a strong focus on employability, innovation, and inclusive education. Role responsibilities: Recruitment and Conversion - Promote LSBU's academic programmes and value proposition to prospective students, parents, and partners. - Represent LSBU at recruitment fairs, school visits, information sessions, and webinars both in-person and virtually. - Support students and counsellors through the application, offer, and CAS stages, ensuring high-quality applicant conversion. - Develop and implement conversion activities, including webinars, pre-departure briefings, and offer-holder engagement initiatives. Partner and Agent Management - Build and maintain strong working relationships with LSBU's authorised recruitment partners in India. - Deliver agent training sessions to improve product knowledge, compliance, and conversion performance. - Evaluate agent performance and provide regular updates to the Senior Manager South Asia. - Identify and recommend new agent partnerships or institutional collaborations aligned with LSBU's recruitment strategy. Market Development and Representation - Conduct market research and provide insights on student trends, competitor activities, and policy changes. - Support the development of market-specific strategies to strengthen LSBU's presence in India. - Coordinate visits by LSBU academic and recruitment colleagues, arranging logistics, schedules, and event participation. - Engage with alumni networks to promote LSBU success stories and encourage advocacy within the region. Collaboration and Reporting - Work closely with LSBU's recruitment teams to ensure alignment and support for regional goals. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of activities, leads, and outcomes in the university's CRM system. - Prepare and submit regular reports on market activities, student enquiries, and application progress to the Head of Recruitment South Asia. - Provide timely feedback on regional performance and make recommendations for improvement. Compliance and Brand Representation - Ensure all recruitment practices adhere to LSBU policies, brand standards, and ethical recruitment guidelines. - Maintain a high standard of professionalism when representing LSBU externally. - Monitor market regulations and visa policy developments to ensure accurate student guidance and compliance. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - Achievement of application, offer, and enrolment targets for India. - Quality and responsiveness of partner and agent engagement. - Growth in LSBU's visibility and participation in recruitment events within the markets. - Timely and accurate reporting of recruitment activity and outcomes. - Strong collaboration with internal LSBU teams and regional colleagues Key skills and experience: Essential Requirements - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education, skills, and practical experience. - Experience supporting international student recruitment, admissions, or related engagement roles within higher education. - Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with education agents and institutional partners in India or similar regional markets. - Strong understanding of student decision-making processes and international application or admissions cycles, or ability to learn quickly through training and onboarding. - Excellent English communication skillswritten and verbalwith confidence in delivering presentations to diverse audiences. - Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and work towards agreed objectives in a structured and accountable manner. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with CRM or student-management systems, with willingness to learn new platforms. - Ability and willingness to travel across countries and within the region as required, with appropriate support and accommodations where needed. Highly Desirable Criteria - Experience supporting student recruitment, partnership development, or engagement activities for a UK or another internationally recognised higher-education institution. - Understanding of UK visa processes, compliance requirements, and/or higher-education policies, with openness to learning organisation-specific regulations. - Familiarity with digital engagement tools such as virtual events, online recruitment platforms, or digital marketing approaches. - Awareness of secondary and tertiary education systems in Pakistan and Bangladesh, or experience working with comparable regional education landscapes. - Experience working effectively in multicultural, cross-cultural, or geographically dispersed teams. Personal Attributes - Able to work proactively, stay organised, and manage objectives in a structured and transparent manner. - Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse groups. - Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement. - Comfortable working independently while contributing to a matrixed or multi-line reporting environment, with support available when needed. - Open-minded, adaptable, and motivated by supporting learners and promoting inclusive international education.
