Job Title Principal Software Engineering

Opportunity for a Mainframe Automation Principal to support break fix, maintenance, service improvement and Business and infrastructure project delivery.

The Purpose of This Role

Basic Technology And Infrastructures

The Mainframe Automation group provides a variety of services related to (z/OS) systems at Fidelity. Those services might include but are not necessarily limited to:

- Computing systems, applications, and languages,
- Data structures, databases, files, and I/O,
- System Administration,
- Network,*
- Network Administration,*
- Hardware,

The Skills that are Key to this role

- Strong Knowledge in Rexx coding
- Managing applications and subsystems startup and shutdown through CA
- Created/Managed Rules like MSG, TOD, EOJ, CMD etc. in OPS/MVS
- Managed applications and subsystems startup and shutdown through Tivoli
- Automation for z/OS
- Adding New started task to System state Manager
- Building new policies
- Manipulating policies as per customer need
- Adding the applications to system automation.
- Adding a timer to recycle the CICS,DB2,MQ,z/OS, Storage,ENS.
- Adding message id in automation table to trap the message and send alert
- to operations console.
- Set up alert message and notify operations about the application in problem
- Good root cause problem analysis using system and application logs.
- Automation checkouts performed during Disaster Recovery.

Technical / Behavioral

- Incident and Problem resolution in all LBG Mainframe z/OS areas
- Contribute to Service improvement plans for Mainframe z/OS environments
- Lead improvement initiatives in the Mainframe z/OS technical area
- Contribute to key Infrastructure delivery projects
- Ensure Incidents and Problems are resolved in line with SD Service Assurance targets
- Ensure processes and procedures are strictly adhered to
- Raise Change records to fix hardware and software issues with the backup service
- Work collaboratively across the wider Storage team to help develop, promote and implement process initiatives

- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to maintain good working relationships with India and onsite partner teams
- Must be able to act as a team player as well as work independently
- Adhere to all FIDELITY standard operating procedures (e.g. Change Control, Problem Management, etc)
- Must be a quick learner and adapt to new tools and technologies
- Project management capability would be an added advantage.
- Provide 12 hours On-Call Support
- Willingness to work off hours as per company standards
