About the Role

We are seeking a Head of Architecture to define and drive the end-to-end architecture strategy for REA India. This leadership role will focus on scalability, security, cloud optimization, and AI-driven innovation while mentoring teams and enhancing development efficiency. The role also requires collaborating with REA Group leaders to align with the global architectural strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Leadership

- Maintain Architectural Decision Records (ADR) to document key technical choices and their rationale
- Define and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures across Housing and PropTiger
- Align technical decisions with business goals, leveraging microservices, distributed systems, and API-first design

Cloud & DevOps Excellence

- Optimize cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP) for cost, performance, and scalability
- Improve SEO performance by optimizing website architecture, performance, and indexing strategies
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to accelerate delivery

Security & Compliance

- Establish and enforce security best practices for data protection, identity management, and compliance
- Strengthen security posture through proactive risk mitigation and governance

Data & AI Strategy

- Architect data pipelines and AI-driven solutions to enable automation and data-driven decision-making
- Lead Generative AI initiatives to enhance product development and user experiences

Incident Management & Operational Excellence

- Establish best practices for incident management, ensuring system reliability, rapid recovery, and root cause analysis
- Drive site reliability engineering (SRE) principles to improve uptime, observability, and performance monitoring

Team Leadership & Mentorship

- Mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous learning
- Collaborate with product and business leaders to align technology roadmaps with strategic objectives

What We're Looking For

- 12+ years in software architecture, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), and large-scale system design
- Expertise in microservices, API design, DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud cost optimization
- Strong background in security best practices and governance
- Experience in Data Architecture, AI/ML pipelines, and Gen AI applications
- Proven leadership in mentoring and developing high-performing engineering teams
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills
