This Position reports to: Trade & Transportation Manager Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop, maintain, and improve transport/documentation processes. Each day, you will ensure goods are received and shipped while meeting quality, legal, and cost parameters. You will also showcase your expertise by optimizing inbound and/or outbound processes and delivery of goods to external and internal clients. The work model for the role is: #Li-Onsite This role is contributing to the Electrification business in Distribution Solution division at Bangalore (Nelamangala), India You will be mainly accountable for: - Responsible for executing international logistics and transportation operations, ensuring compliance with global trade regulations and local import/export requirements. - Negotiates freight and transportation rates across various modes to optimize cost and service efficiency. - Coordinates with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and other logistics service providers to ensure timely and accurate shipment execution. - Monitors shipment tracking, milestone updates, and transit reporting to maintain visibility and proactively resolve delays. - Maintains accurate documentation and trade data to support audits and continuous process improvements. - Collaborates with internal stakeholders and global teams to address escalations and implement logistics solutions aligned with business needs. - Conducts vendor performance reviews, manages claims for in-transit damages, and drives initiatives to meet key performance indicators (KPIs). Qualifications for the role - You are immersed in Trade and Transportation function in Switchgear industry - You have 3 to 6 years of experience in managing international import and export operations, compliance with global trade regulations and local customs, Negotiating freight and transportation rates, shipment tracking, milestone updates, vendor performance review & manages claims for in-transit damages - Possess an enhanced knowledge of SAP - HANA, IncoTerms (International Commercial Terms), MS Office Package - Degree in B.Com/ M.Com / BBA / MBA (should be full-time) - You are at ease communicating in English More about us ABB's Distribution Solutions Division facilitates the efficient and reliable distribution, protection and control of power by improving electric power quality while strengthening the resilience of the grid.
