SUMMARYWe are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Technology Policy Associate to join the Wadhwani AI PMU unit at Ministry of Electronics and IT MeitY team The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of technology policy issues including but not limited to artificial intelligence cybersecurity data privacy and digital transformation This role involves leading policy development engaging with key stakeholders and representing the organization in various policy forums The Senior Technology Policy Associate will play a critical role in shaping and advocating for policies that align with our organizational goals and values Location - DelhiABOUT US -Wadhwani AI is a nonprofit institute building and deploying applied AI solutions to solve critical issues in public health agriculture education and urban development in underserved communities in the global south We collaborate with governments social sector organizations academic and research institutions and domain experts to identify real-world problems and develop practical AI solutions to tackle these issues with the aim of making a substantial positive impact We have over 30 AI projects supported by leading philanthropies such as Bill Melinda Gates Foundation USAID and Google org With a team of over 200 professionals our expertise encompasses AI ML research and innovation software engineering domain knowledge design and user research In the Press SoleCultures page of Wadhwani AI -ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPolicy Development and Analysis Lead the development and analysis of technology policy positions on critical issues such as AI cybersecurity data governance and emerging technologies Research and Reporting Conduct comprehensive research on emerging technologies and their policy implications Produce policy briefs reports and other documentation to support advocacy efforts Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with internal teams including legal communications and technical experts to ensure policy positions are informed by a diverse range of perspectives Project Management Oversee and manage policy-related projects ensuring timely and effective delivery of objectives Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders to immerse dialogue and curate technology policy decisions Advocacy and Representation Represent the organization in policy discussions conferences and public forums Advocate for the organization s policy positions at the national and international levels REQUIREMENTSBachelor s degree in Public Policy Law Computer Science or a related field Advanced degree e g MPP JD MS preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience in technology policy public policy government affairs or a related field Experience in AI cybersecurity or data privacy policy is highly desirable Strong understanding of technology policy issues and the legislative regulatory environment Proven ability to conduct policy analysis and develop strategic policy recommendations Experience working in or with government agencies industry associations or advocacy organizations Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical issues to non-technical audiences Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Collaborative mindset with experience working in cross-functional teams We are committed to promoting diversity and the principle of equal employment opportunity for all our employees and encourage qualified candidates to apply irrespective of religion or belief ethnic or social background gender gender identity and disability If you have any questions please email us at careers wadhwaniai org
