Overview Senior Fullstack Software Engineer Java React Why HealthEdge The U S healthcare industry is a massive and essential sector valued at 4 4 trillion It offers around 1 8 million job openings in the healthcare tech industry annually This reflects the industry s vast opportunities and the growing need for technological advancements Specifically the U S health insurance industry where HealthEdge operates is valued at 1 1 trillion This sector is known for its stability and sustainability often remaining resilient during economic downturns and other challenging events Impact and Scale HealthEdge serves over 81 million lives by ensuring their health insurance claims are processed quickly and accurately With more than 130 customers and over 100 third-party integrations HealthEdge tackles unique problems at an extraordinary scale daily We support 48 out of 50 states in the U S Innovative Transformation Founded in 2005 HealthEdge is transitioning from a monolithic application architecture to a modern microservices-based architecture This involves building new services using microservices and migrating legacy services to modern architecture one step at a time Unique Challenges and Opportunities Working at HealthEdge offers a unique opportunity to gain unmatched experience Migrating such a large-scale product with hundreds of customers and processing millions of transactions daily presents challenges that are rare in the industry At HealthEdge you ll be part of an exciting journey to revolutionize the health insurance industry through innovative technology solutions We hope you re as excited as we are to take on this challenge and make a significant impact in the healthcare sector Your Role HealthEdge is looking for a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer who is passionate about solving real-world business problems to join our team As a Senior member of the team you will be working on developing solutions that help our customers integrate with our product suite You will be working as a problem solver with plenty of unique assignments within the department You will be a key member involved with design discussions coding on both the backend and frontend and working heavily with the database and J2EE integration technologies Your impact Work as part of an agile team to implement new features according to the requirements while adhering to the best coding development standards Conduct detailed designs and lead design whiteboarding and creation of solution architecture Lead in work-breakdown of tasks Lead peer reviews of design and code Coordinate release management and bug triaging Lead technical discussions with HealthEdge customers to find the best possible solutions Conduct bug fixing implement configuration migration processes and other UAT readiness technical tasks Perform data loads for UAT readiness and during UAT as requested by the UAT plan Support resolution of UAT identified issues and their triage Contribute to authoring the Implementation Operational Information and companion spreadsheet for feeds Perform configuration migration processes and other PROD readiness technical tasks Perform data loads for PROD readiness Perform all job functions consistent with HealthEdge policies and procedures including those which govern handling PHI and PII Backend Requirements Minimum of 6 years of development experience in Java J2EE technologies Hands-on experience with XML Web Services SOAP WSDL etc JMS Spring and SQL Experience in complex data analysis data migrations and system integration of software products into complex IT environments Experience in writing understanding quality database queries or stored procedures that are reliable scalable and reusable Development experience on the Linux operating system and WebLogic Application Server Experience working with integration middleware or enterprise system bus ESB technologies such as iWay Spring or Apache Camel and OSGI containers like Apache Karaf Experience with Design Patterns and Enterprise Integration Patterns including file transfers messaging routing transforming enriching etc Experience with source control software Bitbucket unit testing JUnit and build automation CI Jenkins Frontend Requirements Proficiency in React js and its core principles Knowledge of React Hooks Props Redux and Reducer framework Experience with useQuery and useMutation APIs Familiarity with Context API Strong understanding of TypeScript Knowledge of Kendo UI is a plus Other Details BS BA in CS or related field Excellent analysis consulting and communication skills Previous experience in customer-facing roles on professional services engagements Experience in the health insurance industry Payors preferred Experience with agile development methodology such as SCRUM or Kanban Travel for this position is typically less than 10
