Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostic Imaging:
- Perform a wide range of radiologic procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, MRI, and other imaging modalities to assist in diagnosing and treating medical conditions.
- Patient Care:
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and well-being during radiologic procedures.
- Explain procedures, position patients accurately, and address any concerns or questions.
- Quality Assurance:
- Monitor and maintain the quality of radiologic images, adjusting equipment settings as needed for optimal results.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate authority.
- Radiation Safety:
- Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure.
- Monitor radiation doses and minimize risks.
- Documentation:
- Accurately record patient information, examination details, and imaging results in the EHR or other record-keeping systems.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance on radiologic equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.
- Coordinate with the biomedical engineering department for repairs and calibrations.
- Continuing Education:
- Stay updated on advancements in radiologic technology and best practices.
- Attend training, seminars, and workshops to maintain licensure and certifications.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure diagnostic imaging aligns with patient care plans.
- Compliance:
- Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines governing radiologic procedures and patient confidentiality (e.g., HIPAA).
