About About UshurI Ushur XOSl Ushur GenA I Title: Sr. Director of Engineering Experience: 14 - 18 Years Location: Bangalore Work Mode: Hybrid About The Role As the Sr. Director of Engineering at Ushur, you will lead high-performing teams to deliver scalable, cloud-native SaaS solutions while driving engineering excellence and innovation. You'll oversee backend, DevSecOps, and Cloud Operations, ensuring seamless delivery of complex technical initiatives. This role demands strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and a passion for building world-class engineering culture in a hybrid work environment. Responsibilities - Direct a team of engineering managers and engineers, creating highly scalable, performant, easily maintainable & well-tested product features - Develop and maintain a culture of engineering innovation, platform reliability and operational excellence. - Exude a strong sense of feature & delivery ownership, agility, and an urge for continuous learning - Ensure the delivery of multiple technical initiatives, from design to agile development & delivery phases. - Manage DevSecOps team and optimize the operations pipeline. - Help creatively solve business problems by supporting the necessary backend, frontend, API infrastructures and Cloud Operations. - Empower the delivery teams to self-organize - Constantly lookout for engineering talents that can help Ushur scale newer heights. Deeply involved in talent acquisition practices - Evaluate engineering requirements and design proposals in a technical capacity, in collaboration with cross-department teams - Effectively collaborate with other teams across the organization to meet the release expectations - Be in touch with the latest frameworks in the industry, and be influential in all choices related to Ushur's SaaS application stack - Evaluate requirements and work with PMO to create delivery plans - Effectively facilitate daily stand-ups, early risk identification, and mitigation, dependency resolution, follow-ups for gap-closure, etc. - Drive the execution and delivery of features by collaborating with many cross-functional teams, architects, product owners, and engineers - Make critical decisions that contribute to the success of the product - Proactive in foreseeing & resolving issues before they occur - Responsible for operating a development process that enforces best practices - Constantly scout for and operationalize the necessary tools required to enable a highly efficient engineering process - Lead initiatives around cost optimization, scalability, and developer enablement through modern DevOps and SRE practices. Qualifications - 14+ years of professional software development experience, which includes substantial & demonstrable implementation expertise using Java/Node.JS/Golang - 6+ years of direct people management experience in a techno-managerial capacity - Hands-on experience in overseeing Cloud Operations and providing strategic team leadership - Strong track record of delivering multiple, complex projects on time - Excellent written and verbal communication, strong organizational skills, and attention to details - An expert scrum master and an Agile practitioner - Demonstrated ability to lead teams of highly skilled developers & managers - Strong ability to write and evaluate code - Extensive prior work directing cloud-based SaaS platform(s); broad experience developing high-throughput backend systems, microservices, API layers, etc. - Working experience in Spring, Spring Boot, or related Java frameworks, RESTful API design and development, event-driven architecture, Amazon AWS services, DevOps, Cloud Operations, EKS - Strong Software development fundamentals, architecture, algorithms, and problem-solving skills - Deep understanding of observability concepts and tooling - Understanding of distributed systems, asynchrony, and message-based architectures Preferred - Experience working with Java/Node.JS/ React.JS, DevOps - Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB - Experience working in a load-balanced, large, stateless microservices environment - Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or a related field Why Join Us Thriving Company Culture At Ushur, we foster a values-driven culture that prioritizes respect, inclusion, and collaboration.
