Job Description

DevOps Engineer Job Responsibilities

- Develops and maintains mission-critical information extraction, analysis, and management systems.
- Translates loosely defined requirements into solutions.
- Provides direct and responsive support for internal and client needs.
- Participates in architecture and software development activities.
- Uses open-source / propriety technologies and tools to accomplish specific use cases encountered within the project.
- Uses coding languages or scripting methodologies to solve a problem with a custom workflow.
- Collaborates with others on the project to brainstorm about the best way to tackle a complex technological infrastructure, security, or development problem.
- Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including materials, manpower and time necessary
- Implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure
- Have the technical skill to review, verify, and validate the software code developed in the project.
- Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible
- Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management
- Selecting and deploying appropriateCI/CD tools

DevOps Engineer Qualifications/Skills

- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Process-oriented with great documentation skills
- Knowledge of best practices and IT operations
- Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies
- BS in Computer Science, IT, BCA, BE or equivalent area of technical study
- Familiarity with container orchestration services, especially Docker, Kubernetes
- Good understanding with agile software development in Java or Python.
- Experience administering and deploying development CI/CD tools such as Git, Bitbucket, GitLab, Github, Jira or Jenkins.
- Significant experience with Windows and Linux operating system environments
- Experience with infrastructure scripting solutions such as PowerShell or Python
- Working knowledge of databases and SQL
- Knowledge of Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform are desirable
- Experience with working on Build tools like Ant, Maven etc
- Good knowledge on AWS Cloud
