Skills and Competencies 6+ years of progressive experience in software or cloud engineering, including 3+ years in engineering leadership roles. Proven success in managing and scaling engineering teams of 10+ members. Strong coding skills in one or more programming languages: Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, C++, or similar. Extensive hands-on experience architecting, deploying, and managing production workloads on public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP). Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and DevSecOps principles. Expertise in designing and deploying scalable, secure cloud systems, including microservices, event-driven systems, and RESTful APIs. Proficiency with tools and technologies such as: Backend: C#, Java, Node.js, .NET Core Frontend: React.js, Angular, Vue.js Cloud Platforms: Azure, AWS Containerization & Orchestration: Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, Docker DevOps Tools: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines Monitoring & Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog Demonstrated ability to lead delivery of complex, multi-year infrastructure or platform initiatives. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across distributed teams and time zones. Proven track record of shipping high-quality features, products, or services. Passion for mentoring and fostering growth within diverse engineering teams. Preferred qualifications include experience with AI/ML technologies, data engineering pipelines, and familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC2 or ISO 27001. Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical fieldor equivalent practical experience. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of experience or Master's Degree with 8+ years of experience. Responsibilities Build and lead a high-performing engineering team in India, managing 1020+ engineers and team leads. Own team planning, hiring, performance management, and career development while fostering an inclusive, collaborative team culture. Drive execution of engineering deliverables with a focus on quality, scalability, and operational readiness. Provide hands-on technical guidance and architectural oversight across modern cloud and engineering stacks. Collaborate with US-based leadership and cross-functional teams to align on priorities, architecture, and delivery timelines. Establish and maintain engineering excellence through clean code, automated testing, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies. Lead the development and delivery of core platform components, shared services, and infrastructure capabilities. Ensure the team is equipped to support production systems and participate in on-call rotations during India business hours. Mentor engineers and technical leads, promoting a growth mindset and high-performance standards within the team. Partner with finance, procurement, and security teams to manage infrastructure costs, embed DevSecOps practices, and ensure compliance with security frameworks. Stay current with emerging technologies, applying relevant innovations to improve scalability, efficiency, and customer outcomes.
