The Role

You&aposll be our first Senior Backend Engineer, architecting and building the foundational systems that enable AI employees to operate at scale across millions of marketing campaigns. This isn&apost about building typical web applicationsyou&aposre creating the distributed infrastructure that coordinates autonomous agents managing billions in advertising spend.

- AI Agent Orchestration Engine - Distributed system coordinating thousands of AI employees across multiple advertising platforms simultaneously
- Real-time Campaign Processing Pipeline - Sub-second data ingestion and decision-making systems handling millions of campaign events daily
- Multi-platform API Integration Layer - Robust, fault-tolerant connections to Facebook, Google, TikTok APIs with intelligent rate limiting and retry logic
- High-stakes Decision Framework - Mission-critical systems that execute budget changes, campaign optimizations, and creative swaps affecting real business outcomes

What We&aposre Looking For

Distributed Systems Architecture

- 5+ years building large-scale distributed systems that handle millions of concurrent operations
- Deep experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processing
- Understanding of CAP theorem trade-offs and designing for eventual consistency

High-Performance Data Processing

- Experience with real-time data pipelines processing millions of events per minute
- Knowledge of stream processing frameworks (Kafka, Apache Storm, or similar)
- Expertise in optimizing database performance at scale (PostgreSQL, Redis, time-series databases)

API Integration & Reliability

- Extensive experience integrating with third-party APIs, especially rate-limited and unreliable services
- Building robust retry mechanisms, circuit breakers, and graceful degradation patterns
- Understanding of webhook processing, API versioning, and backward compatibility

Mission-Critical System Design

- Experience building systems where downtime directly impacts business revenue
- Knowledge of monitoring, alerting, and observability for complex distributed systems
- Understanding of security best practices for handling sensitive business data

AI/ML Systems Experience

- Experience building infrastructure for AI/ML workloads and model serving
- Understanding of how to scale LLM interactions and manage AI service dependencies
- Knowledge of prompt engineering, model orchestration, or agent frameworks (preferred)

Startup Scale Engineering

- Thrives in 01 environments where you build foundational architecture from scratch
- Can balance rapid iteration with long-term scalability considerations
- Experience scaling systems from thousands to millions of users

Founder-Level Ownership

- Takes full ownership of system reliability and performance outcomes
- Previous startup or early-stage engineering leadership experience preferred
