Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP). Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation Business of Process Control Platform Division in Bangalore .

You will be mainly accountable for:

•Performing a variety of software engineering tasks in the assigned area of software development, software quality engineering, software testing, DevOps, cybersecurity, software release, support, and maintenance, and/or release management, with limited supervision.

• Contributing (independently) to the software development lifecycle that includes requirements, conceptualization, prototyping, design, coding, testing, release, and subsequent maintenance and operations.

• Creating highly structured and maintainable code and deliverables with right amount of documentation.

• Embracing software architecture and design patterns in development to achieve better software metrics across software modularity such as coupling and cohesiveness.

Qualifications for the role

- 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in software development and 2 to 3 years of experience in a product development organization, preferably in the automation domain.
- Proficient in .Net Framework 4.5 and above, .Net Core 2.2, and .Net Standard 2.0. Strong hands-on experience in developing software tools and applications within the .Net ecosystem (including .Net Framework, .Net Core/ASP.Net Core) using C#.
- Skilled in UI framework development and UI development for web-based UI, WPF (using PRISM, MEF/Unity), Windows Forms, and UWP (good to have). Experience with ASP.Net Core Razor and Angular (both good to have). Proficient in developing UI for web, desktop, and HTML5.
- Strong knowledge and skills in WCF, ASP.Net Core 2.2 (including Web API, Signal R, HTTP Clients), and any messaging framework. Proficient in WPF, web services, and WCF.
- Proficient in Object-Oriented Programming, software modeling, design patterns, UML, and information modeling. Basic knowledge of software security fundamentals, secure coding, and software security standards and implementation.
- Experience with SOA, REST, and RPC (preferred).
- Experience with software quality processes, software tools (SCA, unit testing frameworks, white-box testing), and scripting tools (PowerShell). Good knowledge of containerization using K8s/K3s/Docker and experience with virtual environments (VMware/Hyper-V/Azure).
