Substrate Sourcing Manager

Job Title: Substrate Sourcing Manager - OSAT Semiconductor Operations Location: Jagiroad, Assam Job Summary: We are seeking a results-driven Substrate Sourcing Manager to lead and manage the strategic sourcing and procurement of IC substrates used in OSAT semiconductor packaging operations. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge of substrate materials, strong supplier management experience, and a solid understanding of the semiconductor supply chain, particularly in the backend (assembly and test) ecosystem. Key Responsibilities: - Strategic Sourcing & Procurement - Develop and implement sourcing strategies for high-performance substrates (e.g., ABF, BT, SAP) used in OSAT operations. - Ensure security of substrate supply to meet NPI and high-volume production demands. - Supplier Management - Identify, evaluate, and manage global substrate suppliers. - Lead supplier selection, qualification, and performance monitoring processes. - Negotiate pricing, lead time, and terms with substrate vendors. - Cross-functional Collaboration - Work closely with Engineering, Product Management, OSAT vendors, and internal Packaging teams to align sourcing strategies with technical roadmaps. - Collaborate with Quality and Reliability teams to ensure substrates meet product and regulatory requirements. - Cost & Risk Management - Monitor market trends, material cost drivers, and geopolitical risks. - Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or delivery timelines. - Manage inventory and lead time risks associated with long substrate cycle times. - Operations Support - Provide real-time sourcing updates and material status to support production planning and supply continuity. - Work closely with OSAT partners to align substrate deliveries with build schedules. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Materials Science, or a related field - 10+ years of experience in semiconductor substrate sourcing, packaging, or procurement. - Strong understanding of substrate technologies (e.g., FC-BGA, CSP, SAP) and OSAT operations. - Experience working with major substrate suppliers (e.g., Ibiden, Shinko, Unimicron, AT&S, etc.). - Proven ability to manage complex supply chains and supplier relationships. - Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. - Experience in a Greenfield set up would be an added advantage - Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional, and global environment.
