Team Lead AM Manager - Same Day Surgery Medical Coding 8 to 15 years Job Summary The Manager of Same Day Surgery Medical Coding oversees the coding department s operations related to outpatient surgical procedures This role involves ensuring accurate coding practices compliance with regulations and efficient billing processes while leading a team of medical coders The manager will also collaborate with other departments to enhance overall performance and quality of care Key Responsibilities - Team Leadership Supervise and mentor the medical coding staff providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality coding and compliance with industry standards - Operational Management Manage daily coding operations including workflow optimization staff scheduling and resource allocation to meet departmental goals and deadlines - Quality Assurance Implement and oversee quality assurance processes conducting regular audits of coded data to ensure accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines ICD-10 CPT HCPCS - Reporting and Analysis Prepare and present reports on coding performance trends and areas for improvement to senior management and stakeholders - Regulatory Compliance Stay updated on changes in federal and state regulations related to medical coding and billing and ensure the team adheres to these changes Qualifications - Education Any degree preferably life science preferred - Certification Certification as a Professional Coder CPC CCS or CCA and or certification in healthcare management such as CHC or CQIA is highly desirable - Experience Significant experience in medical coding particularly in same day surgery settings with previous supervisory or managerial experience preferred Skills Strong knowledge of coding practices Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills for managing a diverse team Proficient in data management and reporting software as well as electronic health record EHR systems Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to details ref biojoby com
