Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Finance Controller to lead our financial operations and play a critical role in our high growth journey. This position demands a strategic thinker with deep expertise in financial management, regulatory compliance, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, optimize resource allocation, and support the Company's transition to public market standards under SEBI and other regulatory frameworks. This is an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Financial Reporting and Compliance: Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), IFRS, and Companies Act requirements. Ensure timely filing of statutory returns, including GST, TDS, and income tax. Lead consolidation and manage subsidiaries (India and overseas)
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses. Provide strategic insights on cost optimization, revenue projections, and capital allocation to support business growth and investor confidence.
- Internal Controls and Audits: Design, implement, and monitor internal financial controls to mitigate risks and prevent fraud. Coordinate statutory, internal, and tax audits, addressing any findings promptly to uphold Corporate governance standards.
- Team Leadership and Development: Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Implement ERP systems or financial software enhancements to streamline processes.
- Strategic Financial Analysis: Analyze financial performance metrics, KPIs, and trends to provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership. Support M&A evaluations, fundraising activities, and investor relations preparations.
- Tax Planning and Optimization: Develop tax strategies to minimize liabilities while ensuring full compliance with Indian tax laws, including transfer pricing and international taxation for global operations.
- IPO Preparation and Readiness: Lead financial due diligence processes, including the development of robust internal controls, risk management frameworks, and ICFR compliance.
- Risk Management: Identify financial risks, including market, credit, and operational risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

Qualifications and Experience

- Education: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). Any other related advanced degree along with CA is preferred.
- Experience: 12-14 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 2-3 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Controller or Head of Finance). Proven track record in startups, high-growth companies, or pre-IPO environments is highly desirable. Experience in the tech, e-commerce, or service-based industries is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Ind AS, IFRS, Indian GAAP, and SEBI/Companies Act regulations.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Tally), and advanced Excel/MS Office tools.
- Strong knowledge of GST, direct/indirect taxes, and audit processes.
- Familiarity with financial software for reporting and analytics (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Zoho, or similar).

- Strong communication and presentation skills for interacting with stakeholders, including board members and investors.
- High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.
