Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer with a strong background in cloud technologies to join our dynamic data team. This role requires a minimum of 6 years in data engineering and 3+ years working with cloud platforms. You will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and cloud-based solutions to support analytics and business intelligence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain robust cloud-based data pipelines using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Build and manage ETL workflows to integrate data from multiple sources (APIs, databases, files) into cloud data lakes or warehouses.
- Leverage tools like AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, and Google Dataflow to automate and optimize data processing.
- Work with modern data warehouses like Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake, and big data frameworks such as Apache Spark and Kafka.
- Ensure data quality, security, and compliance, adhering to standards like GDPR and HIPAA.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data scientists, analysts, business stakeholders) to deliver high-impact data solutions.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for data pipelines to ensure performance and reliability.
- Maintain clear documentation and follow best practices for scalable data engineering.

Required Qualifications:

- 6+ years of experience in data engineering.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency in ETL pipeline development, cloud storage, and data integration.
- Strong hands-on experience with tools like AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, or Google Dataflow.
- Experience with data warehouses: Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake.
- Programming knowledge in Python, SQL, Java, or Scala.
- Knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
- Experience in cloud security and data governance practices.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Cloud certifications like:
- AWS Certified Data Analytics Specialty
- Google Professional Data Engineer
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with BI tools: Tableau, Power BI, Looker.
- Experience collaborating on machine learning workflows.
- Exposure to data governance tools like Collibra, Alation, or Informatica.
