FPGA Senior Design Engineer

Job Description - Your Role As a Senior FPGA Design Engineer at NEC Mobile Network Excellence Center (NMEC), Chennai, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing FPGA-based hardware systems for Datacom and Aerospace applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate system components and demonstrate proof-of-concept designs in advanced technologies. In this role, you will: - Implement FPGA code on target hardware and test with system components and software. - Perform RTL design, implementation, testing, and integration of FPGA-based systems. - Deliver high-performance hardware solutions for Datacom and Aerospace applications. - Participate in R&D activities to demonstrate proof-of-concept designs for aerospace technologies. - Work with evaluation kits and hardware using Vivado/Vitis tools. - Use hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, and JTAG emulators. ---------------------------------------- Your Profile - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech or equivalent). - 4–6 years of experience in FPGA design and development. - Proficient in FPGA design flows using Xilinx tools including simulation, synthesis, debugging, and optimization. - Strong knowledge of Verilog, VHDL, and SystemVerilog. - Experience integrating Soft IP/Hard IP such as GTX/GTH transceivers, MAC, DMA, PCIe Gen3, CPRI, JESD, FFT. - Skilled in developing verification environments with self-checking testbenches, BFMs, checkers, monitors, and scoreboards. - Familiarity with control interfaces like AMBA AXI, UART, SPI, I²C, DDR, Ethernet, and USB. - Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up and testing methodologies. - Good to have: scripting skills in Perl, TCL, or Python; experience in linting, STA, equivalence checking, and CDC verification.
