About Position: 8+years of hands-on experience as an MS SQL DBA, including SQL Server Replication in production environments. Strong experience with GCP/AWS/Azure services. Proficiency with Terraform, Puppet, and Jenkins in cloud infrastructure workflows. - Role: Database Administration - Location: All Persistent Locations - Experience: 8 to 12 Years - Job Type: Full Time Employment What You'll Do: - Design, implement, and maintain MS SQL Server environments in GCP/AWS/Azure with a focus on performance, availability, and reliability. - Configure and manage SQL Server Replication (transactional, merge, peer-to-peer) for high availability and disaster recovery. - Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform and Puppet. - Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for database and infrastructure deployments using Jenkins. - Perform cost analysis of GCP resources, including instance types, storage options, and networking components; provide cost-saving recommendations. - Evaluate security configurations and perform availability assessments to align infrastructure with best practices and compliance standards. - Compare GCP services and deployment models (e.g., Cloud SQL vs. GCE-hosted SQL) and provide technical recommendations based on workload needs. - Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting using Datadog, GCP Monitoring, and other observability tools. - Manage and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers supporting SQL and infrastructure workloads. Ensure secure and optimized networking: VPC, firewall rules, routing, and private connectivity. - Follow ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management. - Participate in on-call rotations and production support escalation handling. Expertise You'll Bring: - 8+ years of hands-on experience as an MS SQL DBA, including SQL Server Replication in production environments. - Strong experience with GCP/AWS/Azure services. - Proficiency with Terraform, Puppet, and Jenkins in cloud infrastructure workflows. - Experience with Datadog, including dashboarding, alerting, log analytics, and APM. - Ability to conduct GCP cost optimization and service comparison analysis. - Strong knowledge of cloud security principles, IAM roles, and availability architectures (zonal/regional deployments, backups, failover). - Familiarity with Kafka, Redis, and Aerospike from a support and integration standpoint. - Expertise in Windows and Linux OS administration. - Experience managing networking in cloud environments including DNS, VPNs, load balancing. Understanding of ITIL-based practices and operations management frameworks.
