🔍 Role Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically strong professional to support the Manager – VAT Reconciliation in operationalising the end-to-end VAT reconciliation and governance framework across Group Operations. The role focuses on ensuring accurate, timely, and traceable reconciliations across multiple systems, driving exception management, and strengthening VAT governance in line with enterprise standards. 🎯 Key Responsibilities Three-Way Reconciliation Enablement - Ensure accurate daily reconciliation between source systems, core banking (e.g., Flex), and the VAT engine (Suntech). - Identify, analyze, and report reconciliation breaks in a timely manner. Legacy Difference Remediation - Drive reduction of aged mismatches through structured follow-ups with issue owners. - Track remediation progress and closure of long-standing differences. Exception Report Ownership - Own first-line validation, distribution, and governance visibility of exception reports. - Support daily exception management and escalation as required. VAT Governance & Process Adherence - Ensure on-ground adherence to the VAT Governance Manual and Enterprise Reconciliation Framework (ERF). - Support timely updates to processes for evolving regulatory, business, or automation requirements. Stakeholder Coordination - Act as the day-to-day coordination point across Operations, IBG Ops, Finance/Tax, Technology, and Audit/Risk/Compliance teams. - Ensure timely delivery of agreed actions and reporting. 🧠 Knowledge, Skills & Experience Knowledge - Working familiarity with VAT regulations, reconciliation frameworks, and financial control policies. - Experience supporting BAU operations and automation initiatives. Skills - Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, including MI interpretation and trend analysis. - Effective stakeholder management and influencing skills across Operations and Technology. - Proficiency in reconciliation platforms (e.g., TLM) and data tools (Excel, Power BI). Education - Graduate/Postgraduate in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, Banking, or a related discipline. Experience - 5–8 years of experience in banking operations or finance with VAT exposure. - Prior reconciliation, audit, or financial control experience preferred. 🛠 Tools & Platforms - VAT Engine: Suntech - Core Banking: Flex - Reconciliation Platform: TLM - Reporting & Analytics: Excel, Power BI
