Job Description

Essential Requirements

- Appropriate academic and professional qualifications (Bachelor's Degree with Master's degree in transport planning / economics).
- Working experience (13+ years) in Transport Planning softwares like VISUM, SATURN, DIADEM, EMME, VISSIM, LINSIG, JUNCTIONS9, Paramics, SYNCHRO, SIDRA, TUBA, COBA-LT and AMAT assessment
- Experience and knowledge of:
- Strategic Modelling
- Operational Modelling
- Transport / economic appraisal techniques and guidance including economic cost-benefit analysis
- Strong Knowledge of the technical transport planning environment.
- Strong numerate and analytical abilities, including a high degree of competence in MS Excel.
- Ability to lead projects.
- Good Project Management Skills.
- Some understanding of how appraisal and business case requirements should match client needs and support scheme development.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Be able to guide/mentor junior staff.
- People management experience.

Desirable Requirements

- Be highly self-motivated and ambitious.
- Be able to adapt to different cultures and working environments to build rapport with customers.
- Be able to build excellent working relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Some experience in the application of financial and commercial appraisal techniques.
- Knowledge and experience of UK appraisal and business case guidance and approaches.
- Experience in the use of analytical and research tools such as GIS and the use of databases.
- An appreciation of the transport industry and related policy context.
- Professional membership of a relevant institution.
- Experience in programming skills like Python, PowerBI, Excel-VBA and R.
