India Overview - Driven by the entrepreneurial spirit and passion for innovation of its founder the John Cockerill Group s primary mission is to meet the needs of its time by developing large-scale technological solutions Its contribution to businesses governments and communities consists of services and associated equipment for the sectors of energy defense industry the environment transport and infrastructures Our mission is to facilitate access to renewable energy fight against insecurity produce sustainably preserve natural resources and contribute to greener mobility To accomplish this mission and to bring our group s entrepreneurial culture to life five values guide our actions innovation commitment responsibility customer focus and humanity Job Purpose To support its growth John Cockerill Energy Solutions headquartered in Belgium has project execution center in Mumbai India To reinforce its India Execution Center John Cockerill Energy Solutions is hiring a Field Inspection Engineer M F X The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct comprehensive inspections and engineering assessments of Boilers to determine their current condition identify degradation mechanisms and provide support to accurately estimate their remaining useful life The ideal candidate will possess expertise in boilers HRSG operation thermodynamics process materials failure mechanisms Knowledge of non-destructive testing NDT techniques will be preferred This role requires a keen eye for detail strong analytical skills and the ability to provide actionable recommendations to optimize HRSG performance reliability and extend asset life He She is responsible to assure the technical and administrative conformity of the tasks to the contracts and to internal quality and safety standards as defined in the QMS quality management system of the Energy Sector of John Cockerill The Field Inspection Engineer will be part of the After-Sales team primarily based in Belgium and will work in close collaboration with experts senior inspectors and the operations department Depending on workload and availability the engineer may also contribute to other technical activities supporting the After-Sales business Key Responsibilities The Field Inspection Engineer is responsible to perform the following tasks - Study Technical Contracts to understand the Project requirements and to raise query in case of any observation Preparation of work method statements inspection procedures erection procedure and schedules Co-ordinate with sub- contractors third parties to ensure timely execution of site activities Plan schedule and execute detailed internal and external visual inspections of Boilers during planned outages and overhauls Identify and document various degradation mechanisms such as creep fatigue corrosion erosion overheating and mechanical damage Inspect critical components including tubes headers drums casing ducting and structural elements Collect data on component failures to determine the root cause Coordinate and oversee specialized NDT activities with NDT technicians Collect operational data and historical inspection data Prepare detailed clear and concise inspection reports including photographic evidence and relevant data findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders Participate in client meetings technical discussions and proposals Provide technical support during repair or replacement activities Stay updated with the latest industry standards codes e g ASME IBR inspection technologies and degradation mechanisms Ensure all safety protocols are maintained and adhered to during the inspection tasks at site by self and by the team Education Experience Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Materials Science Metallurgical Engineering or a closely related field from a recognized university 8-10 years of hands-on experience in power process plant maintenance inspection reliability engineering or asset integrity management Background Profile Skills and Competencies High level of attention to detail and accuracy Willingness to travel extensively to client sites located globally estimated 60-80 travel Should be able to handle Technical Supervision inspection independently Must have knowledge of Measuring Tools used at Erection Sites Strong Analytical problem solving and Presentation Skill Basic understanding of metallurgy material properties at high temperatures and their failure modes Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Ability to prepare clear concise and technically sound reports Strong interpersonal skills for effective client interaction and teamwork Added advantage will be -
