About The Role

Vecmocon is seeking a Functional Safety Manager to oversee safety-related activities for our automotive products. This role combines project management with functional safety expertise. The ideal candidate will have prior development experience in embedded systems and electronics, be capable of managing a team of safety engineers, and be able to perform analyses independently.

Key Responsibilities Area

- Perform project management management activities such as creation of timelines, assigning tasks to team members etc
- Own functional safety activities of the product with the goal to achieve compliance
- Create and maintain system level safety documentation.
- Define functional safety concept and perform analyses such as FMEA, FTA etc
- Collaborate with system architects, hardware and software engineers and verification teams to ensure the implementation of safety mechanisms and features.
- Review and assist team members in performing hardware and software related safety activities
- Provide guidance and support to employees on how to apply functional safety principles in their work
- Develop and deliver functional safety training to employees
- Conduct internal audits and assessments to ensure functional safety compliance
- Work with management to develop and implement a functional safety culture within the organization
- Act as the main point of contact for functional safety topics, both internally and externally, representing the company in customer meetings and industry conferences.

Skillset Required

- Good understanding of basics of electrical and electronics engineering
- Experience with Embedded systems hardware and software development
- Knowledge of ISO2626 standard
- Ability to perform system level analyses for automotive components independently
- Knowledge of software and hardware related safety activities
- Good communication skills
- Good knowledge of software tools required for safety analyses
- Knowledge of V cycle

Good To Have Skills And Qualifications

- Knowledge of cybersecurity related standards (ISO21434)
- Level 1 certification of ISO26262
