Senior Manager of H P C Application Support you are responsible to provide H P C resources tools and expertise in a complex Linux environment to accelerate business outcomes through complex algorithms and pipelines Collaborate with research scientists senior H P C SMEs US Prague Singapore Cloud Engineers and Technical Analysts to build and maintain H P C applications driving innovation in life-saving drug discovery at Our company Research Labs Ultimately you will play a key role in implementing efficient tools on AWS to enhance research scientists UX in utilizing compute-intensive applications to accelerate research outcomes The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-performance computing H P C applications and tools and a passion for developing and optimizing cloud-based software solutions that drive cutting-edge research and technological advancements You will work with other engineers product managers and delivery leads to install maintain and upgrade H P C centric applications libraries compilers You should be ready to work independently as well as in a team We are looking for an individual with passion for H P C and motivated to provide worldclass H P C experience to enable research scientist to use the power of leading-edge science to save and improve lives around the world What will you do in this role Take ownership of applications in the H P C environment in both on-premises and AWS maintain inventory researcher-friendly user guides and provide research scientist with worldclass UX Work closely with data scientists developers and IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of RStudio Jupyter VS Code Connect AWS HealthOmics and other applications Provide tier3-level support for applications running on Linux systems including troubleshooting and resolving complex issues Track and manage incidents using a ticketing system ensuring timely resolution and communication with users Mentor junior staff and assist users with application-related queries provide training and use cases Manage environment modules lmod and access to H P C toolbox including but not limited to Posit Workbench Posit Connect Openeye Schrodinger and a larger number of other tools Automate routine system administration tasks such as user management system monitoring and performance tuning to improve efficiencies Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices for application support Work within a matrix organizational structure reporting to both the functional manager and Hyderabad based Director as well as collaborate with other teams Participate in project planning execution and delivery ensuring alignment with both functional and project goals What should you have Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field with relevant experience Degree in other fields with relevant and extensive experience is acceptable 7 years of hands-on experience in application management within a complex Linux environment Proven proficiency in Linux system administration shell scripting Bash Python or others and troubleshooting complex application issues Experience installing configuring and maintaining Posit Workbench Connect and Package Manager on Linux servers Experience in Devops with respect to configuration management tools e g Ansible Puppet and monitoring tools e g Cloud Watch Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code on AWS Familiarity with job schedulers like SLURM AWS Parallel Cluster Grid Engine PBS Pro or other HPC workload managers Strong analytical skills to assess and interpret complex data Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey findings and recommendations Strong problem-solving skills Proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential risks Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate assessments and reporting Understanding of relevant regulations and compliance standards Ability to coordinate with various teams Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively Our technology teams operate as business
