The Junior Developer will contribute to improving website performance, accessibility, and security; manage marketing infrastructure; troubleshoot CMS issues; and collaborate with the development team to ensure quality assurance and automation. The role also involves maintaining clear documentation, implementing content and accessibility standards, and writing automated tests to enhance workflow efficiency and system reliability Main Duties and Responsibilities - Write scripts for and work with marketing analytical and tracking tools such as Google Tag Manager for minor tweaks related to UI, link updates and content changes and reporting. - Audit new and previous development under supervision for Accessibility, GDPR, Security and Performance - Provide basic technical support to the marketing team related to WordPress CMS, such as Issuing password resets, updating content in restricted areas eg menus, CTAs, etc, identifying requests as bugs and escalating if required, and review and fix CMS pages for technical issues - Monitor and track fixes and bug across marketing applications and create aggregated reports including but not limited to by platform, category, solution etc. - Write clear and comprehensive documentation for existing and upcoming internal processes technical, non-technical and developments - Conduct Q/A on new development under supervision including but not limited to review developments against project specifications and review developments for edge cases and error handling - Analyse and extract insights from monitoring and analytical tools such as Google analytics, or from reports in both machine and human readable formats, such as csv or json. - Build internal tools / workflows under supervision to automate day to day tasks to improve operational efficiency. - Assist content team in following content and accessibility guidelines set internally. - Write automated unit, integration and end to end for internal development in collaboration with senior members using test suits like Jest, PHPunit or Pest. - Collaborate with internal and external teams to define project specifications, development, testing guidelines and conduct Q/A Person Specification Legal status - Right to live and work in India Qualifications - Bachelor's degree - Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields (Desirable) - Certification in web development (Desirable) - Completion certificates for different bootcamps (Desirable) Experience and knowledge - Working knowledge of the following languages HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and SQL. - Familiarity with containerisation tools like Docker, and WSL and Unix shell for local development. - Familiarity working with WordPress, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager. - Working knowledge of Git through CLI and experience using hosted version control services like Github or Bitbucket, creating pull requests etc. - Familiarity with browser dev tools for basic testing and debugging and audit tools like Google Lighthouse. - Familiarity with JSDoc and PHPDoc syntax for in code documentation. - Understanding of programming paradigms procedural, functional and OOP. - Basic understanding of program execution styles, synchronous, asynchronous and event driven. - Basic knowledge of client-server architecture, HTTP specification, and networking concepts like DNS, proxy, UDP/TCP - Experience in WordPress and Laravel development. (Desirable) - Experience working with TypeScript. (Desirable) - Experience working with any automation tools like n8n or make. (Desirable) - Experience working with any testing frameworks like Jest, PHPUnit or Pest. (Desirable) - Experience working with NodeJS.(Desirable) - Experience using or developing REST APIs. (Desirable) - Familiarity with HubSpot, payment integration, and data visualisation. (Desirable) Skills and Abilities - Proficient in English both spoken and written (B2 level or higher) - Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. - Good teamwork, collaboration and communication abilities. - Microsoft excel and spreadsheet skills for data analysis. (Desirable) - Ability to use computer via screen reader and keyboard only (Desirable) - Ability to independently research problem using tools such (Google, LLM etc) and validate findings.
