Position Overview

Omnicom Global Solutions (OGS) is seeking a Senior PHP Developer with a strong background in modern PHP frameworks and API development. This role is ideal for someone with 5+ years of hands-on experience in building scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications using Symfony, Twig, and API Platform. The candidate should be well-versed in PHP versions 7.1, 7.4, and 8+, and have a solid understanding of software architecture, security best practices, and performance optimization.

As a senior member of the development team, you will lead backend development efforts, mentor junior developers, and collaborate closely with DevOps, QA, and product teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.

Responsibilities:

- Architect, develop, and maintain complex web applications using Symfony.
- Design and implement reusable components and templates using Twig.
- Build and manage RESTful APIs using API Platform integrated with Symfony.
- Ensure compatibility and performance across PHP versions 7.1, 7.4, and 8+.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement security patches and fixes.
- Optimize application performance through profiling, caching, and refactoring.
- Collaborate with front-end developers and DevOps to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and technical design discussions.
- Maintain high standards of code quality, documentation, and testing.
- Stay current with PHP ecosystem trends and advocate for best practices.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in PHP development.
- Strong expertise in Symfony (4.x and above), and Twig.
- Deep understanding of PHP 7.1, 7.4, and 8+ features and migration strategies.
- Proven experience with API Platform and RESTful API development.
- Solid grasp of secure coding practices and vulnerability mitigation (OWASP).
- Experience with Git, Composer, and CI/CD tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.

Additional Skills

- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization tools.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps workflows.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks and TDD.
- Knowledge of performance monitoring and logging tools.
- Knowledge of Silex.
