Job Title: Associate Dean – School of Engineering Institution: Dayananda Sagar University (DSU), Bengaluru Department: School of Engineering Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India Position Type: Full-Time, Senior Academic Leadership Position Summary: Dayananda Sagar University (DSU) invites applications for the position of Associate Dean – School of Engineering. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished academic and leader with a Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering or related disciplines, possessing over 15-20 years of teaching, research, and administrative experience in reputed academic institutions or industry-academic environments. The Associate Dean will support the Dean in driving academic excellence, fostering research and innovation, enhancing industry collaboration, and ensuring the holistic development of students and faculty. Key Responsibilities: Academic Leadership - Assist the Dean in developing and executing the School’s academic vision and strategic plan. - Oversee curriculum design, development, and implementation aligned with NEP 2020 and emerging technologies. - Ensure continuous improvement in teaching-learning processes, accreditation, and quality assurance. - Promote interdisciplinary programs and digital learning initiatives. Research & Innovation - Encourage faculty and student research in cutting-edge areas such as AI, ML, Data Science, Cybersecurity, IoT, Cloud Computing, and related domains. - Facilitate research funding through government and industry collaborations. - Support the establishment of research centers, innovation hubs, and incubation programs. Faculty Development - Mentor faculty in pedagogy, research, publications, and career growth. - Drive faculty recruitment, appraisal, and capacity-building programs. - Promote a culture of excellence, ethics, and teamwork. Industry & Outreach - Strengthen partnerships with industry, research organizations, and international universities. - Support internships, placements, and joint projects with industry partners. - Organize conferences, workshops, and expert lectures to enhance industry-academia linkages. Administration - Contribute to policy formulation, budgeting, and governance of the School. - Manage academic schedules, performance reviews, and compliance with regulatory bodies (AICTE, UGC, NBA, NAAC). - Represent the School in university committees and external forums as delegated by the Dean. Qualifications & Experience - Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline. - Minimum 15-20 years of academic/industry experience, with at least 5 years in a senior administrative or leadership role (such as HoD, Professor, or Associate Dean). - Proven track record in research publications, funded projects, patents, or innovative academic initiatives. - Strong understanding of academic governance, accreditation, and higher education policy frameworks. - Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills. Desirable Attributes - Visionary leadership with a commitment to academic excellence and student success. - Experience in implementing NEP 2020 frameworks and outcome-based education (OBE). - Ability to leverage technology for education and research management. - Strong network with academia, industry, and professional bodies (IEEE, ACM, ISTE, etc.).
