Your Role

As a Plastic Design Engineer – Product Development Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and developing plastic components and enclosures from concept to production. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, quality, and performance, applying best practices in mechanical design and plastic engineering.

In this role, you will:

- Design plastic components and enclosures using CAD tools, ensuring functionality, aesthetics, and manufacturability.
- Drive product development from concept design to detailed engineering, prototype build, validation, and tooling (soft and hard).
- Apply DFM/DFA principles to optimize designs for manufacturing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Select appropriate plastic materials based on mechanical, thermal, and environmental requirements.
- Collaborate with tooling, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure smooth product realization.
- Conduct design reviews, tolerance stack-up analysis, and implement GD&T standards.
- Support prototype development and testing, analyze results, and refine designs accordingly.
- Work closely with suppliers and tooling vendors to ensure tooling feasibility and quality.
- Maintain documentation and design records in accordance with engineering standards.

Your Profile

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 4 to 8 years of experience in plastic product design, material selection, and mechanical engineering.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (preferably Siemens NX, SolidWorks, Creo or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of plastic materials, molding processes, and tooling techniques.
- Hands-on experience with DFM/DFA, GD&T, and engineering fundamentals.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

- Experience with prototype development and validation.
- Familiarity with PLM systems and engineering documentation.
- Exposure to industrial electronics, devices, or consumer electronics is a plus.
