📌 Job Opening — System Administrator (Junior–Mid Level) India — Full Remote — 35,000 INR/month We are a growing Portuguese company looking for a System Administrator who is motivated, reliable, and capable of improving and stabilizing our infrastructure. You will help manage our servers, assist our development team, and set up secure environments for remote workers. Important: Our developers are strong, but they do not have deep experience in PostgreSQL and server-level debugging. We need someone able to solve issues the development team cannot handle.🔧 Responsibilities1. Linux & VPS Management (Contabo) - Configure, monitor, and maintain Linux VPS servers - Create and manage virtual servers on Contabo - Manage users, SSH, roles, and secure access - Optimize performance, memory, CPU, and services 2. PostgreSQL Administration - Diagnose slow queries, locks, deadlocks, and connection issues - Tune PostgreSQL for Odoo - Monitor performance and prevent database crashes - Assist developers with DB-related improvements 3. Security & Encryption - Configure SSL/TLS certificates - Firewall management (UFW, iptables, etc.) - VPN setup for remote teams (WireGuard / OpenVPN) - Apply basic security hardening on servers 4. Windows Virtual Servers for Remote Employees (Important) You will be responsible for building and maintaining online Windows environments so that our remote workers do not use their personal machines. This includes: - Creating Windows virtual machines (VMs) on Contabo - Setting up RDP access for each employee - Managing user accounts and permissions - Ensuring secure access with firewalls & VPN - Installing required apps and updates - Managing snapshots & backups - Ensuring good performance for daily work tasks (If you know Active Directory, it is a bonus, but not required.) 5. Odoo Support (Server-Side) - Monitor logs, workers, longpolling - Restart services and fix basic issues - Coordinate with hosting provider in case of crashes 6. Internal Support & System Improvement - Help the team improve processes - Write simple documentation - Automate basic tasks (cron jobs, scripts) - Validate backups and stability of systems 🎯 RequirementsMust Have - Good Linux knowledge (Ubuntu preferred) - Experience with VPS/cloud servers (Contabo, AWS, DigitalOcean, etc.) - Ability to set up and maintain Windows virtual machines - Good understanding of RDP, firewall rules, user permissions - PostgreSQL administration basics - Basic security knowledge (SSL, firewall, VPN) - Ability to troubleshoot real problems - English communication skills - At least 4h overlap with Portuguese working hours Nice to Have - Odoo experience - Docker basics - Active Directory - Bash/Python scripting - Previous experience with remote work environments (VDI/RDP) 💰 Salary 35,000 INR / month Ideal for a junior–mid level candidate with real hands-on experience.
