Database Consultant

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Database Consultant with 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and implementing robust database solutions. The ideal candidate will be an Immediate Joiner having deep expertise in traditional relational databases, coupled with practical exposure to modern cloud environments, specifically AWS and Azure. This role is critical for ensuring the performance, security, and scalability of our data infrastructure across hybrid and cloud-native platforms. 🔑 Key Responsibilities Database Design and Development - Design and model highly performant, scalable, and secure database schemas (conceptual, logical, and physical) for new and existing applications. - Develop, optimize, and maintain complex stored procedures, functions, triggers, and ETL processes using SQL and T-SQL/PL/SQL. - Conduct thorough code reviews for database scripts and stored logic to enforce best practices and ensure optimal performance. - Manage data migration, data synchronization, and database integration projects. Performance and Optimization - Proactively monitor database performance metrics, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement. - Perform advanced query tuning, indexing strategies, and physical database configuration adjustments. - Manage and troubleshoot high availability and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Replication, Always On Availability Groups, backup/restore). Cloud Database Implementation - Consult on and implement database solutions in cloud environments, leveraging services such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Cosmos DB. - Design and deploy cloud database security policies, networking, and access controls (e.g., IAM roles, security groups, Azure Network Security Groups). - Assist in evaluating and migrating on-premises databases to the cloud (lift-and-shift and refactoring approaches). Consulting and Documentation - Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to development teams, providing guidance on database best practices and architectural decisions. - Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, operation runbooks, and disaster recovery plans. - Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and training for internal teams on new database technologies and cloud services. 📚 Required Skills and Experience - Experience: 5-7 years in a Database Administrator (DBA), Database Developer, or Database Consultant role. Immediate joiners preferred and open to move overseas for project. - Core Databases: Expert-level proficiency in at least one major relational database system (Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle). - Cloud Platforms (Mandatory Exposure): Proven experience implementing and managing database solutions in AWS (e.g., RDS, EC2 with database) and Azure (e.g., Azure SQL, Managed Instance). - SQL Mastery: Expert proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and understanding execution plans. - Database Tools: Experience with database monitoring, backup, and automation tools (e.g., Redgate, DataDog, native cloud tools). - Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, particularly in high-pressure production environments. ➕ Preferred Qualifications - Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis). - Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and their impact on database deployment. - Relevant professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate). - Experience with Data Warehousing and BI concepts (e.g., AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse Analytics).
