Genpact NYSE G is a global professional services and solutions firm delivering outcomes that shape the future Our 125 000 people across 30 countries are driven by our innate curiosity entrepreneurial agility and desire to create lasting value for clients Powered by our purpose - the relentless pursuit of a world that works better for people - we serve and transform leading enterprises including the Fortune Global 500 with our deep business and industry knowledge digital operations services and expertise in data technology and AI Inviting applications for the role of Lead Consultant - Database Administrator Oracle and Postgres Job Summary We are looking for Oracle Postgres Database Administrator to join our Database Operations team that works 24x7x365 to ensure our critical systems are up and serving our customers round the clock The candidate should have the strong mindset to look at the bigger picture think over and beyond suggest steps to gain greater control over complex systems In this role the Candidate is responsible for proactively monitoring the key dashboards analyzing the events and resource contentions and troubleshooting them in a timely manner provide solutions for resolving them before they create a widespread impact This role requires strong hands-on experience in database installation configuration administration and routine scheduled activities such as patching backup and recovery Ops work pockets and performance tuning to quickly understand end to end application flow Responsibilities Extensive hands-on experience in Install configure standalone and HA envs database migrations from lower to higher versions Database Backup Recovery and Performance Tuning Good experience on Database development and programming primarily responsible for design program develop and implement database systems Experience in implementing and managing database clustering and HA DR systems Ability to diagnose problems and triage resolve issues across various tiers application network database server or storage tiers Analyze solve and prepare RCA for production outages Debug and troubleshoot database system failures and provide solutions quickly Implementation experience on database maintenance plans including rebuilding reorganizing indexes integrity checks and improve database performance slow running queries processing Perform infrastructure service implementations performance analysis and optimization monitoring problem resolution upgrade planning and execution and process creation and documentation Work with various product application teams across the company Understand the product architecture Identify and suggest areas for proactive alerting monitoring mechanisms Suggest Develop methods for better debugging optimizing and quickly addressing issues Update runbooks with latest trouble shooting guidelines for monitoring alerts server restarts CPU disk and memory related issues etc and ensure they are maintained up to date Monitoring the Service Now ticketing queue and other ticketing queues Work on request and catalog tasks Follow runbooks to resolve incident tickets Qualifications we seek in you Minimum Qualifications Skills Rich experience on multiple database technologies primarily Oracle and Postgres Excellent verbal and written communication skills Positive attitude and strong commitment to delivering quality work Ability to multitask under pressure prioritize work based on criticality and severity Should be flexible and open to work in 24x7 environment in any shifts willing to work on holidays over weekends Preferred Qualifications Skills Strong communicator - English in spoken and written form Genpact is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers applicants for all positions without regard to race color religion or belief sex age national origin citizenship status marital status military veteran status genetic information sexual orientation gender identity physical or mental disability or any other characteristic protected by applicable laws Genpact is committed to creating a dynamic work environment that values diversity and inclusion respect and integrity customer focus and innovation Get to know us at genpact com and on LinkedIn X YouTube and Facebook Furthermore please do note that Genpact does not charge fees to process job applications and applicants are not required to pay to participate in our hiring process in any other way Examples of such scams include purchasing a starter kit paying to apply or purchasing equipment or training Genpact
