Company ProfileOceaneering is a global provider of engineered services and products primarily to the offshore energy industry We develop products and services for use throughout the lifecycle of an offshore oilfield from drilling to decommissioning We operate the world s premier fleet of work class ROVs Additionally we are a leader in offshore oilfield maintenance services umbilicals subsea hardware and tooling We also use applied technology expertise to serve the defense entertainment material handling aerospace science and renewable energy industries Position SummaryPurposeConceptualize Design and develop Industrialized Solutions in form of electrical and electronic hardware device assembly or a system and validate it to formulate all required technical specifications Works under limited supervision The Hardware Engineer will perform the role of system architect that involves design and development of electrical and electronic circuits component selection sensor selection actuator selection drive amplifier selection battery sizing power budgeting and hardware cost estimations for Guided Vehicles AGVs Remotely Operated Vehicles Vessels ROVs Autonomous Mobile Robots AMRs and similar Electro-mechanical systems He she will be additionally responsible for the selection of PLCs Micro-controllers and other computational as well as communication platforms electronic hardware testing and system integration for Oceaneerings next generation systems Duties ResponsibilitiesFunctionsESSENTIAL xc2 xa7 Assists and designs circuits and wiring harness of robotic systems by selection of appropriate technology and components xc2 xa7 Conduct research for cost reduction of electrical and electronic hardware with the required robotic system endurance mobility perception xc2 xa7 Select suitable connectors actuators sensors computational platforms protection switch gear and other elements of details system design xc2 xa7 Support field trial of the developed product at various locations worldwide xc2 xa7 Review the block diagrams layout drawings prepared by Drafters for mechanical electrical network control etc xc2 xa7 Coordinate project deliveries and schedules with the Automation Control teams globally xc2 xa7 Review work carried out by other engineers review the documents prepared by the team and approve the same xc2 xa7 Define functional processes and work towards continuous improvement xc2 xa7 Design and develop automotive compliant analog and digital circuit schematics xc2 xa7 Work with third parties to manufacture and test Printed Circuit Boards xc2 xa7 Iteratively develop proof-of-concept implementations prototypes and demos to fine-tune technologies to practical state of the art systems xc2 xa7 Develop an awareness of modern Electro-mechanical systems and design alternatives xc2 xa7 Learn and apply knowledge of hardware design standards and best practices xc2 xa7 Prepare reports and presentations on the status of the design and development process for discussion with stakeholders xc2 xa7 Perform research on emerging hardware products and standards in support of procurement and development efforts xc2 xa7 Perform all other duties as requested directed or assigned xc2 xa7 Liaise with external research agencies vendors or Institutes to develop competency in technology and build products prototypes those provide strategic advantage to Oceaneering in the market place xc2 xa7 Keep abreast of industry trends and issues xc2 xa7 Demonstrates high level of initiative to accomplish individual objectives assigned as well as team goals xc2 xa7 Work towards individual goals aligned with department and organizational objectives xc2 xa7 Comply to organizational HR policies and procedures xc2 xa7 Understand and adhere to organizational HSE policies and practicesSupervisory Responsibilities xc2 xa7 This position will require to functionally lead entry level EngineersReporting Relationship xc2 xa7 Senior Manager - Robotics and AutomationQualificationsQualificationsREQUIRED Post Graduation Master degree in Instrumentation Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronics Communication or equivalent degree OR Graduation Bachelor degree in Instrumentation Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronics Communication or equivalent degree with minimum six years of relevant industry experience DESIRED xc2 xa7 Hands-on PCB design experience for analog digital and embedded uP FPGA DSP boards in ORCAD ALTIUM KiCAD PROTEL or any similar CAD tool xc2 xa7 Experience in High Voltage PCB board design xc2 xa7 Hands on experience with proximity sensors encoders limit sensors and sensor interface circuits xc2 xa7 Knowledge in Motor Drives and Power Electronics is desirable xc2 xa7 Hands on experience in MATLAB SIMULINK and or any other simulation tool would be an advantage xc2 xa7 Knowledge in Electro-Mechanical Systems and CAD drawings would be an advantage xc2 xa7 Strong background in mathematics and or statistics is highly desirable Knowledge Skills Abilities and Other CharacteristicsAn individual should demonstrate following competencies qualities to be able to perform this role successfully -
