Job Title: India Head of Innovation Engineering

The Deutsche Bank Chief Strategy Office (CStO) drives the bank's Innovation and AI strategy, technology partnerships, and investments, as well as the execution of AI transformation and cross-bank innovation solutions. The team enables the bank to accelerate and drive business led innovation, and to deliver revenue growth and operational efficiencies for all bank divisions and DB ecosystem of partners. You will be joining the Innovation Engineering function within Chief Strategy Office in the role of India Head of Innovation Engineering based in Pune.

This role is critical to ensure the successful development of an innovation capability hub in Asia encompassing innovation strategy, product development, and research. Key objectives include the delivery development and delivery of production quality AI products, creation of an AI ecosystem to support the trustworthy development of AI solutions, and training & education of AI practitioners and business users across the bank.

This role is critical to ensure the successful delivery of data science and AI solutions to the bank, encompassing innovation strategy, full product development lifecycle, and software development best practice. You will partner with senior stakeholders, in both business and technology, to drive the delivery of a prioritized innovation portfolio.

The role demands leadership, initiative, motivation, technical experience, and gravitas.

You must be able to develop and influence strategic priorities for the Engineering team. You will support and consult at senior level across the bank and mobilise, guide, and direct a team of engineers to deliver complex business and technical solutions.

Your key responsibilities

- Lead CStO Asia-Pacific Innovation engineering team comprising data scientists, software engineers, support engineers, MLOps specialists, and data engineers
- Create an environment for creativity, high performance, and delivery
- Create and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders to align innovation activity with business strategy and priorities and generate a pipeline of APAC ideas for innovation
- Contribute and influence strategic direction for senior leadership using informal and formal communication.
- Drive the maturity of AI in the bank through adoption of best practice for AI solution development, testing, implementation, and control
- Prove the desirability, viability, and feasibility of innovation ideas through well designed experimentation
- Enable Innovation in the Cloud - working with Innovation engineering and intra-bank partners to create an innovation environment with access to the latest cloud services and high-performance computation capability.
- Work with Chief Strategy Office leaders to research emerging technology and identify opportunities for experimentation and integration.
- Set a standard for data and AI engineering execution and delivery in line with the bank's architecture principles and strategic technology selection.
- Thought leadership for the Bank's AI/ML agenda.
- Strategic Site Direction:Develop and execute the strategic plan for the India site, aligning it with the Indra goals and objectives.
- Talent Management & Development:

- Lead talent acquisition efforts to attract and retain top AI, data science, and engineering talent in India.

- Oversee performance management, career development, and training programs for the India team.
