Technical Analyst ETL & BO

What does the job entail?

The Technical Analyst ETL & BO (ETL = Extract Transform Load; BO = Business Objects) is responsible for monitoring the ETL- and BO-application and their daily operations. A smaller part of his work is the development of changes requested by ArcelorMittal Bremen IT and the creation and implementation of improvement ideas. He works in a team of 4 – 5 engineers dedicated to Bremen data warehouse in GCC India.

Key Responsibilities:

- Daily operations of IBM DataStage and Redwood Cronacle jobs and solving problems (60%).
- Daily operations of SAP Business Objects and solving problems (10%).
- Analysis and development of changes in ETL, mainly in IBM DataStage jobs and scheduling, analysis of impact of modifications (30%).

Who are we looking for?

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in data warehouse technologies (e.g. ETL, Data warehouse, DBMS, data analytics) ideally with certifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English

Technical skills (mandatory):

Operating systems:

- Proficient with Windows and Unix operating systems
- Data warehouse design and methodologies:
- Expertise in data modelling, database design using universe, star and snowflake schema

ETL:

- Strong knowledge in extraction, transformation and loading; ideally with IBM DataStage
- Reporting
- Good knowledge in SAP Business Objects

Scheduling:

- Very good know-how in scheduling tools, ideally SAP BPM (Redwood Cronacle)

Databases:

- In-depth knowledge in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and SQL programming

IT Services:

- Working knowledge in ITIL (ideally with certification) and ticketing tools (e.g. ServiceNow)

Technical skills (optional):

Azure:

- Knowlege in Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake

Programming:

- Python for data engineering and cloud analytics with e.g. Databricks

Soft skills:

Analytical thinking:

- Analyze application issues and solve them; take informed decisions

Collaborative:

- Work effectively with other team members, product expert and business departments to achieve common goals using efficient communication

Organizational skills:

- Manage own time and resources efficiently to handle multiple tasks and topics in parallel

Agility:

- Knowledge of agile methods e.g. Kanban, Scrum
