Role Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated SDE II Backend Developer who can lead by example, manage a small team of engineers, and architect scalable backend systems. This role combines deep technical ownership with hands-on leadership, ideal for someone ready to drive impact both through code and team growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, learning, and high performance.
- Architect, develop, and optimize scalable, fault-tolerant backend systems using Node.js (Python is a bonus).
- Own the design and implementation of databases, ensuring performance, integrity, and scalability across SQL and NoSQL systems.
- Guide system design discussions, code reviews, and technical planning for new feature development.
- Ensure team delivers high-quality, secure, and maintainable code through best practices and testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams product, frontend, DevOps to align on timelines, priorities, and technical requirements.
- Set coding standards, streamline development processes, and contribute to team hiring and growth.

Required Skills & Experience

- 58 years of backend development experience, including team or tech leadership.
- Deep expertise in Node.js, with production experience in building large-scale systems.
- Strong understanding of system design, microservices, event-driven architectures, and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
- Proven experience in database architecture: designing, scaling, and maintaining SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis) solutions.
- Hands-on with RESTful/GraphQL API development, authentication, rate-limiting, and caching.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes (Good to have)
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
