India is a key market for Sama X and anticipation of the upcoming Starlink launch in India and subsequent authorizations for Sama X, we are looking for a senior lead to lay the commercial, operational and legal groundwork in the coming months, and successfully launch and operate the Sama X business. Job Profile The Country Lead will be the Sama X senior representative on the ground in India, overseeing sales, business development and in-country operations. The Country Lead will manage several teams, in coordination with the senior leadership (CEO, CCO, CFO and CTO) at Sama X HQ in Dubai. The Country Lead will be responsible for working with the Sama X legal team to ensure regulatory and legal readiness and compliance in India. Key Responsibilities · Identify, engage, and close new business opportunities across in alignment with SamaX’s business strategy. · Drive the sales process rigorously - from prospecting, qualification, and solution presentation to negotiation and closing. · Build and maintain relationships with high-value clients, acting as their key point of contact and ensuring a high level of satisfaction · Provide ongoing account management, identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities. · Conduct thorough market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands. · Represent Sama X at industry events and networking opportunities, building brand awareness and fostering new business connections. · Development and oversight of direct channels (mainly web-based and relationship-sales) and indirect partnerships including, but not limited to, ICT VARs, Satellite Solutions Providers, Telecommunications Operators/MNOs · Support CCO to develop and manage pipeline and sales forecasts vs. budget and ensure accurate and meaningful reporting against KPIs and targets · Responsible for meeting revenue targets and for implementing supporting strategies, varying by segment or market · Support regulatory process in India and ongoing compliance · Work with CTO and Sama X Head of Operations to build out operational partners across India for installation, customer support and any other on-ground operations needed. · Work with senior management to ensure any potential JV partnership(s) are implemented, and act as ongoing interface for day-to-day matters and sales coordination where needed · Oversee P&L of India operation, in close coordination with senior management at HQ Candidate Requirements · University graduate, ideally with a post-graduate degree, in a relevant field (e.g. business, telecommunications, engineering) · 10+ years of experience in the satellite, telecommunications or technology industry ideally with previous responsibility for India-wide sales · Previous exposure to satellite communications industry is a plus · Demonstrable track record of developing new markets and achieving sales targets · Ideally, experience in a start-up environment and/or building a new business line within a larger group · Strong communication skills to give direction to all stakeholders in various areas within team and across other functions (Finance, Technology, etc.) · Strong network across target India market · Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills and ability to persuade and lead diverse stakeholders · Comfortable with B2C and B2B sales, including proposal and bid management for bespoke/partner sales · Strong and significant experience to direct a team toward the right decisions in the shortest possible time · Ideally previous P&L responsibility for a company with >$10M annual turnover · Fluent in English and Hindi
