XML Tagging, Word Conversion & ProofreadingRequirements: Knowledge in ePub, XML, OCR, Word Conversion.Work from home available.Freshers & Experienced are welcome.Key Responsibilities 1. ePub Creation & Editing Convert manuscripts, Word documents, or PDFs into ePub format using specialized software. Edit and format ePub files to ensure proper layout, navigation, hyperlinks, and multimedia integration. Validate ePub files for compliance with digital publishing standards. Ensure readability, accessibility, and device compatibility of ePub content. 2. XML Authoring & Management Convert and structure content in XML format according to project specifications. Apply tags, metadata, and attributes accurately for content categorization and publishing. Collaborate with development and content teams to maintain XML standards and templates. Update, revise, or correct XML files while ensuring consistency and accuracy. 3. OCR & Text Conversion Process scanned documents using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software to convert images into editable text. Proofread and edit OCR-generated text to correct errors, formatting issues, and inconsistencies. Convert OCR-processed content into formats like Word, ePub, or XML for further use. Maintain accuracy and quality checks to minimize manual corrections. 4. Word Processing & Formatting Prepare and format documents in Microsoft Word according to publisher or client guidelines. Ensure proper styles, headings, numbering, tables, and images are applied. Convert Word files into other formats (PDF, ePub, XML) as required. Maintain version control and document organization for easy retrieval and reference. 5. Quality Assurance & Proofreading Conduct thorough quality checks on all digital files to ensure accuracy and adherence to guidelines. Verify formatting, layout, links, multimedia, and metadata in ePub and XML files. Collaborate with editors to identify and correct errors before final publication. Maintain consistency in font styles, headings, numbering, and graphics. 6. Collaboration & Coordination Work closely with content writers, editors, designers, and project managers to meet deadlines. Coordinate with technical teams for troubleshooting and compatibility testing of digital files. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge. Provide updates on project progress and highlight potential challenges in content conversion. 7. Documentation & Reporting Maintain records of all digital files, revisions, and conversions. Track workflow, project status, and timelines to ensure on-time delivery. Generate reports on completed conversions, quality checks, and pending tasks. Ensure proper backup and storage of files in organized digital folders. Required Skills & Competencies 1. Technical Skills Proficiency in ePub creation software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Sigil, Calibre). Strong knowledge of XML authoring and structuring. Experience with OCR tools such as ABBYY FineReader, Adobe Acrobat, or Tesseract. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF handling. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and digital publishing standards is a plus. 2. Attention to Detail High level of accuracy in content conversion and formatting. Ability to identify errors in text, layout, metadata, and links. Consistent application of project-specific guidelines and standards. 3. Organizational & Time Management Skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently. Maintain organized file systems, version control, and backups. Prioritize tasks to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality digital content. 4. Communication & Collaboration Good verbal and written communication skills for team coordination and reporting. Ability to understand client requirements and provide accurate digital solutions. Strong teamwork skills to coordinate with content, design, and technical teams. 5. Problem-Solving Skills Ability to troubleshoot formatting, compatibility, or conversion issues. Apply innovative solutions to maintain quality and efficiency in digital publishing.
