Job Description

Nisum is looking for a skilled Cassandra & Oracle DBA to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for database development, optimization, and troubleshooting complex problems in both relational and NoSQL environments. Responsibilities:

- Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, time management, and organization skills.
- Foster a collaborative team environment.
- Exhibit knowledge and comprehension of core business functions, processes, and operations.
- Work effectively within a global delivery model.
- Lead discussions and drive solutions for complex database challenges.
- Troubleshoot complex problems efficiently.
- Be a self-starter, capable of helping to develop a roadmap for handling database upgrades.
- Database Development and Optimization:
- Design, develop, and maintain complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and views for mission-critical applications.
- Analyze execution plans and apply indexing strategies and PL/SQL for performance (e.g., bulk operations, indexing, pipelined functions).
- Ensure normalization, integrity constraints, partitioning, and effective indexing.
- Collaborate with DBAs for capacity planning and system tuning.
- Handle multiple tasks and adapt to a constantly changing environment.
- Work comfortably on a distributed, multi-time zone team.

What You Know:

- Strong SQL background and ability to troubleshoot and tune SQL performance issues.
- Experience with Cassandra/CQL/DataStax tools.
- Firm understanding of the core concepts of Cassandra and ability to assist with troubleshooting problems.
- Experience with Oracle GoldenGate replication technology.
- Experience with development models such as Agile and SDLC.
- Experience in data management best practices.
- Good to have: Experience with IBM's DataStage.

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Applications, or a related field.
