Job Description Job Description Job Title Director, Architecture A highly experienced and strategic data professional with deep expertise in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise data architecture, across capabilities in data management space. The person should be Skilled in ensuring we build scalable, secure, and high-performance and reusable but extensible data solutions. Proficient in Programming language like Java/Python/nodejs modern data platforms, new reporting tools, cloud technologies, data governance, and analytics. We are looking for someone with deep Data Architecture experience for a key program in Workplace business of Fidelity. The Purpose of This Role The Director Data Architecture will be responsible for devising a Data consumption strategy, modernizing the existing reporting and collaboration capabilities, migration and a new path forward. Snowflake, Semantic layer technologies, Rest based APIs, Power BI reporting skills are the key skills needed for this role to encompass a range of abilities needed to effectively create, analyze, and share data and sharing insights using the Power BI platform. Key skills include data modeling, data visualization, report design, understanding DAX, and communication This is an Architecture position (Individual Contributor) is based in Bengaluru or Chennai India. This role will work with the application/product teams, product leaders, businesspeople across Business units and other architecture and engineering discipline across multiple product areas in the Fidelity. This individual will work with Architecture governance teams, adhere to existing Architecture standards and able to work across teams to bring a design/approach that is future thinking and able to bring all parties together and help execute the strategy working closely with the engineering teams. The individual should have extensive experience in the field of Data, Reporting and Data Services in Cloud. The Value You Deliver As a Director, Enterprise Data Architecture (Data consumption) you will be responsible for - Understanding the current eco system, data strategy and data platforms. - Ability to work across existing business and technology teams to gather the current state and future needs for data processing. - Analyze the current Data sharing and reporting tools, reporting platforms and technology, evaluate and look at the gaps, help modernize and build future platforms using these technologies. - As we modernize our platforms and architecture, you're able to provide all the guidance needed on utilization, Migration, and adoption of data services with cost and security in mind. - Partner with the Business, architects, Product Owners, AI Technologists and IT leaders to enable the Reporting needs for our clients and modernize and make it nimble. Ensure we are building solutions for larger consumptions across multiple products and scalable for large volumes. - Ensure architectural standards, practices and governance is adhered to all times and able to work with all parties to make decisions and work together. - Participate in the technology planning and budgeting process, should possess extensive knowledge of and experience in applying data architecture into implementation, solving consumption at scale issues, working with data governance, data security and other end to end data journey. - Advanced knowledge in Oracle, Postgres, Yuga byte, Snowflake, Cockroach database, - Any other analytical, streaming or other data platform or technology knowledge is a plus - Candidate will be expected to communicate analytical results and developed solutions in a way that is meaningful for business stakeholders and provides actionable insights. Proven track record of strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams. The Skills That Are Key To This Role - Expertise in PowerBI, reporting skills encompassing a range of abilities needed to effectively create, analyze, and share data insights using the Power BI platform. Key skills include data modeling, data visualization, report design, understanding DAX, and communication. - Hands on experience in DB Technologies, Analytical and Cloud database technologies - Expertise in Cloud Azure or AWS, Azure Preferred, Certified solutions Architecture with focus on database development in Cloud. - Expertise in SQL with extensive design and coding skills, Query tuning and performance. - Expertise in Data Quality, Data Flow, Data Modeling, Finetuning and performance tuning. - Experience in developing architecture for complex financial systems with high-volume with internal and external data movement is a must. Behavioral/Leadership - Demonstrated ability to influence and interact with senior management. - Self-directed and skilled at operating autonomously to achieve results in a fast-paced business environment. - Must thrive in a dynamic and fluid organization where priorities shift to respond to changing business needs. - Knowledge of the financial services industry and investment management - Proven ability to bridge communication gaps between systems and business professionals and across companies. - Superior organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to quickly identify root cause of complex problems and collaborate on resolution. - Ability to influence others to get the job done and to leverage other parts of the organization. - Strong presentation development and delivery skills - Ability to work closely with multiple different Architecture groups like Enterprise Architecture, Solutions Architecture, Application Architecture etc., to bring common solutions with focus on reuse. The Expertise we are Looking for. - Data Governance practices familiarity, data security and acts like HIPPA, CCPA, PII Data Protection is very important. Overall knowledge of Protected Health Information - PHI is crucial for the role. - Experience with Analytical and Cloud born database tools like Snowflake. - ETL Tool like Snaplogic - 13+ years of experience Education - Bachelor's degree in computer science or any other discipline - Certification in Database Technologies and tools like Power BI, Oracle, Cloud Certified Data, Snowflake etc., is a Plus - Azure or AWS certification is good to have How Your Work Impacts The Organization Enterprise data architecture team helps standardize the data tools and technologies used across the organization. We develop the standard guidelines and any reusable artifacts which will help guide implementation teams Make decisions on choice of tools based on their use case requirements Aid the teams during deployment phase in a way that they use & ensure architectural guidelines with respect to non-functional requirements are met Aid the design process by providing standard guidelines and code sample on proper usage of prescribed tools Assist in development of risk and security controls along with other controls for optimal shared resource utilization Manage the technology landscape to minimize the tech debt.
