Job Description Overview The Principal Associate - General Corporate will play a key leadership role within the corporate practice. This position requires deep legal expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to independently manage sophisticated corporate transactions and advisory matters. The role involves extensive client interaction, negotiation, and oversight of critical corporate matters, including compliance, contracts, and business transactions. Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage a wide range of corporate legal matters, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and transactional advisory. - Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, agreements, and related documentation. - Advise clients on complex legal issues, business strategies, and compliance requirements under Indian corporate and regulatory laws. - Conduct thorough legal research, analyze case laws, and prepare legal opinions and strategic recommendations. - Support end-to-end execution of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, restructuring, and other corporate transactions. - Collaborate closely with clients to understand business objectives and deliver tailored legal solutions. - Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to deadlines. - Mentor junior associates, oversee work quality, and contribute to internal knowledge-building initiatives. Qualifications & Experience - LLB or equivalent law degree from a reputed institution. - 7-10 years of experience in corporate law, general corporate advisory, or relevant legal practice areas. - Strong expertise in contract drafting, vetting, and negotiations. - Proficiency in corporate compliance, regulatory frameworks, and governance requirements. - Demonstrated experience in handling M&A transactions and other corporate deals (preferred). - Excellent legal research, analytical thinking, and case evaluation skills. - Strong communication, client management, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. - Ability to work independently on complex assignments and manage high-stakes projects under tight timelines. - In-depth understanding of the Indian legal and regulatory ecosystem.
