Overview

Apexon is seeking an experienced CTRM/ETRM Developer to design, build, and enhance ASPECT modules across multiple commodities (power, gas, oil, metals). The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with ASPECT or similar CTRM platforms, deep understanding of trade lifecycle and risk, and the ability to deliver robust, scalable solutions in a fast-paced, hybrid environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and enhance ASPECT modules and custom components for front-, middle-, and back-office processes.
- Implement and optimize trade capture, pricing, scheduling/nomination, risk/PnL, and EOD processes across power, gas, oil, and metals.
- Build integration with upstream/downstream systems: market data, ETRM/ERP, trade confirmation, logistics/scheduling, risk, and reporting.
- Develop robust APIs, data pipelines, and event-driven services for real-time and batch processing.
- Configure product definitions, curves, valuations, and risk measures; support VaR/PnL explain and limit monitoring use cases.
- Optimize performance of complex calculations, deal workflows, and large-volume data processing.
- Ensure solution quality via unit/integration tests, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines; maintain technical documentation.
- Collaborate with quants, risk, trading, and operations to translate business requirements into technical designs.
- Support production releases and troubleshoot issues across environments; drive root-cause analysis and remediation.
- Adhere to security, compliance, and audit requirements; contribute to best practices and coding standards.

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years' experience in CTRM/ETRM development within energy or commodities trading.
- Hands-on experience with ASPECT (AspectCTRM/Aspect Enterprise Solutions) or another leading CTRM (e.g., Endur, Allegro, RightAngle, Eka), with strong adaptability to ASPECT.
- Strong programming skills in one or more:
- C#/.NET or Java (Spring Boot, REST)
- Python for data processing and automation
- SQL (T-SQL/PLSQL) and performance tuning
- Solid understanding of:
- Physical and financial commodities (power, gas, oil, metals)
- Trade lifecycle: capture → validation → scheduling/logistics → settlement → risk/PnL
- Market data management, curves, pricing, and valuation models
- Risk concepts: PnL, Greeks (where applicable), VaR, limits, MtM
- Experience integrating CTRM with market data (e.g., ICE, CME, Platts/Argus), confirmations, credit/risk, and ERP.
- Proficiency with API design (REST/JSON), messaging (Kafka/RabbitMQ), and ETL/data pipelines.
- Familiarity with Azure/AWS/GCP, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD (Git, Azure DevOps/Jenkins).

Nice to Have

- Prior ASPECT-specific configuration, scripting, and extension development.
- Experience with scheduling/nomination systems (gas/power), ETRM logistics, and physical operations.
- Data warehousing/BI: Snowflake/Redshift/Databricks; reporting tools (Power BI/Tableau).
- Understanding of regulatory reporting (REMIT, EMIR, MiFID II) and trade surveillance.
- Experience with microservices, domain-driven design, and event sourcing.
- Knowledge of metals trading specifics (hedging, assays, invoicing).

Education

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field; or equivalent industry experience.
