Job Description Description We are seeking a skilled Mortgage Underwriter to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of mortgage lending processes and demonstrate strong analytical abilities to assess loan applications effectively. Responsibilities - Review and analyze mortgage applications for accuracy and completeness. - Assess applicant creditworthiness by evaluating credit reports and financial statements. - Determine the risk associated with mortgage lending and make recommendations accordingly. - Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. - Collaborate with loan officers and other team members to facilitate smooth processing of mortgage applications. - Communicate decisions to applicants and provide reasons for approval or denial of loans. Skills and Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. - 2-12 years of experience in mortgage underwriting or a related financial field. - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. - Proficient in using underwriting software and tools. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Knowledge of mortgage lending regulations and compliance standards. - Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
