Consultant Neonatology

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Neonatologist to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the medical care of newborns, especially premature or critically ill infants. You will work closely with the pediatric team to ensure the best outcomes for neonates and provide expert consultation in neonatal care.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide expert care for newborns, particularly premature or critically ill infants
- Diagnose and treat conditions such as respiratory distress, infections, and congenital abnormalities in newborns
- Provide neonatal resuscitation and intensive care in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
- Perform routine checkups and monitor the growth and development of neonates
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including pediatricians, obstetricians, and nursing staff
- Supervise and guide junior doctors and medical staff in neonatal care
- Educate and counsel parents on newborn care, including feeding, development, and potential health concerns
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient care and treatment plans

Requirements:

- MD/DNB in Pediatrics or Neonatology
- 5+ years of experience in neonatal care
- Expertise in neonatal resuscitation and intensive care
- Excellent communication and counseling skills, especially with parents
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and handle high-stress situations
