This role is for one of our clients Industry Hospitals and Health Care Seniority level Mid-Senior level Min Experience 1 years Location Howrah Madurai Durgapur Raniganj Guwahati Cooch Behar JobType full-time About the Role We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Medical Gastroenterologist to join our leading healthcare institution This is an exciting opportunity for a specialist committed to evidence-based medicine and patient-centered care The role involves diagnosing managing and treating a wide spectrum of gastrointestinal and liver-related conditions while contributing to our mission of clinical innovation and superior patient outcomes ResponsibilitiesClinical Practice Diagnose and medically manage diseases related to the GI tract liver pancreas and biliary system including both acute and chronic conditions such as hepatitis cirrhosis IBD GERD IBS and pancreatitis Perform and interpret endoscopic procedures including upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy Proficiency in capsule endoscopy and other diagnostic modalities is expected Provide comprehensive care to both inpatients and outpatients ensuring timely follow-ups and continuity of care Multidisciplinary Collaboration Work closely with hepatologists surgeons radiologists oncologists dietitians and primary care teams to develop integrated treatment plans for complex cases Participate in joint case reviews tumor boards if applicable and interdepartmental consults to ensure holistic care Patient Engagement Education Offer clear and compassionate guidance to patients and families regarding diagnosis treatment choices lifestyle modifications and long-term management Emphasize preventive care early detection and disease education Professional Development Research Stay current with the latest developments in gastroenterology and hepatology by participating in CME programs workshops and medical conferences Contribute to ongoing clinical audits protocol enhancements or research initiatives within the department Documentation Compliance Maintain detailed accurate and timely records of clinical evaluations diagnostic reports and patient encounters in accordance with hospital standards and regulatory norms Ensure ethical and compliant medical practices aligned with institutional and national guidelines Qualifications SkillsEducation DM or DNB in Gastroenterology from a recognized medical institution mandatory Valid registration with the Medical Council of India or relevant state medical council Experience 1-10 years of post-specialization experience in a hospital clinic or tertiary care setting Prior experience in ICU-based gastroenterology care is advantageous Core Competencies Clinical expertise in diagnosing and managing GI and hepatobiliary diseases Proficient in routine diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills Excellent communication and empathy in dealing with diverse patient populations Ability to work efficiently in a collaborative high-pressure environment Desirable Attributes Exposure to advanced endoscopic techniques such as ERCP and EUS preferred not mandatory Experience in academic or research-based roles including published studies or trial participation in gastroenterology Willingness to contribute to departmental education training or clinical improvement projects
