Key responsibilities:

- Plan, coordinate, and control laboratory activities, ensuring the achievement of objectives (KPIs).
- Ensure the quality of Raw Materials, Intermediates, and Finished Products manufactured and/or released at ANG, as well as improvements in standard processes. This position has the authority to halt the production process in case of non-compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with the following PSM building blocks:

- BB7 PSI / Substance register

- BB12 Risk matrix

- Manage, administer, and motivate personnel in the Laboratory and Process Improvement areas.
- Ensure that product formulas are functional (through Scale-UP, RFT).
- Address complaints from external and internal customers, as well as support investigations into product-related issues and propose improvements.
- Reprocess and rectify obsolete materials.
- Ensure that documentation related to the area is updated and current.
- Support and encourage your team to improve their performance, stimulating development and recognizing specific opportunities for growth. Define responsibilities and work expectations set objectives, discuss, and support improvement points with constructive feedback.
- Keep employees informed about matters that affect them and create an open environment for questioning current practices, fostering a professional atmosphere that reflects an open and diverse culture where employees can perform at their best safely.
- Be part of the advanced planning and execution team for APQP.
- Ensure the training, motivation, and awareness of personnel within your organizational structure.
- Responsible for communicating changes within your reporting lines.
- Ensure compliance with the quality, safety, health, and environmental standards set by AkzoNobel and its clients.
- Know and apply the company's values of integrity and ethics, as well as the Code of Conduct, including the Principles against Bribery and the Global Competition Law, and participate in related training either in person or online.
- Education / Knowledge

- Preferably Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields

- Knowledge of Paints (Physical properties and evaluation methods)

- Paint production processes

- Knowledge of quality systems (at least ISO 9001)

Experience / Skills

- 6-7 years of experience in personnel management

- 3 years in Quality Systems

- Desirable experience in color development
