Amazon is seeking a self-motivated and creative individual to drive consumer communications in India. This role will be reporting to the Head of Stores Communications for India and lead proactive campaigns across Amazon.in product categories and shopping events. The successful candidate should have demonstrated expertise in media relations, social media and influencer relations, and have a strong sense of ownership. They should also have experience in crisis and issues management in order to collaborate effectively with team members managing these topics. They should be a strategic thinker and enjoy working in a fast-paced, start-up culture where we take pride in thinking and delivering big. The role is based in our India headquarters in Bangalore.

Key job responsibilities

• Build and deliver on strategic PR plans for Amazon's Stores business (Amazon.in)

• Manage key retail events and cross-category campaigns

• Identify and leverage data to support storytelling efforts

• Support strategic launches around new shopping innovations

• Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges

• Act as a business partner to Amazon category leadership teams on communications and public relations

• Write strategic plans, press releases and work with partners to create digital content

• Build excellent relationships with key media and influencers across product categories; understand new media channels

• Collaborate with internal stakeholder teams to drive successful program launches

• Deliver strategic communications counsel to internal executives on both short and long term challenges and opportunities

• Effectively represent Amazon as spokesperson

• Work closely with counterparts in international communications teams - 6 to 10 years of professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, business studies or a related field- Experience in professional brand communications or public relations
- Experience of working for or with consumer brands
