Role: Sr. Principal Data Scientist / Principal Data Scientist Location: Bangalore, India Company: HiLabs We are a leading Software as a Service (SaaS) company that specializes in the transformation of data in the US healthcare industry through cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions. We are seeking job Principal Data Scientist. As a Principal Data Scientist at HiLabs, you will partner closely with a team of stake holders, product managers, and data engineers to solve real problems in healthcare domain. HiLabs is looking for great problem solvers who can tap into the potential of data and deliver scalable and robust data products. Our potential members would work on developing and implementing machine learning algorithms for various HiLabs Products and Solutions. Key Responsibilities - Leverage AI/ML techniques to identify and mathematically interpret complex healthcare problems. - Deploy, scale, and optimize machine learning solutions on large datasets using big data technologies. - Develop, test, and prototype new AI algorithms and software tools. - Enhance and refine existing ML/algorithmic solutions. - Conduct quantitative analysis using diverse datasets. - Improve solution efficiency, quality, and scalability. - Understand business problems and extract necessary data to generate stakeholder insights. - Build and deploy new functionalities based on client requirements. - Contribute to applied ML research projects. - Own end-to-end ML solution delivery. - Provide business and technical leadership across DS initiatives. - Mentor and guide a team of data scientists, developers, and clinicians. - Lead product segments or research areas independently. - Drive innovation and ownership across product development cycles. Desired Candidate Profile Education: - Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related fields from a Tier-1 institute. Experience: - 7-10 years of experience in analyzing large datasets and developing predictive models. Technical Skills: - Strong hands-on expertise in Python or Scala (Scala preferred). - Proven software development skills. - Expertise in ML techniques: classification, clustering, regression, outlier detection, hypothesis testing, etc. - Understanding of core ML concepts and mathematical foundations. - Experience with ML tools and libraries; ability to modify existing algorithms if needed. - Knowledge of statistical techniques, linear algebra, numerical optimization. - Experience in ML theory (bias-variance, regularization, loss functions) and A/B testing. - Background in text mining or related ML domains is a plus. Additional Skills: - Ability to translate healthcare operational problems into ML solutions. - Experience collaborating with domain experts to build research-focused ML models. - Excellent communication skills, especially for explaining complex ML concepts to non-technical stakeholders. - Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities. - Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in team environments. - High adaptability and appetite for learning new technologies and methods.
