Job Description Overview: The Video Editor plays a pivotal role in the production process by bringing visual stories to life through thoughtful editing and engaging presentations. With a focus on creativity, attention to detail, and technical proficiency, the Video Editor ensures that video content aligns with the project's vision and meets high production standards. Key Responsibilities: - Edit raw footage into polished final products. - Collaborate with directors and producers to understand project goals. - Implement creative storytelling techniques through editing. - Ensure audio synchronization and quality throughout the video. - Add visual effects and graphics to enhance storytelling. - Conduct color correction and color grading to maintain visual consistency. - Meet project deadlines while maintaining workflow efficiency. - Organize and manage project files and footage. - Feedback on project edits and suggested improvements. - Stay updated with current video editing trends and software. - Participate in brainstorming sessions for video concepts. - Create rough and final cuts of videos according to client specifications. - Work with sound designers and other artists to implement audio and sound effects. - Prepare videos for various platforms (social media, websites, etc.). - Assist in archive and library management of video assets. Required Qualifications: - Proven experience as a Video Editor or similar role. - Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects etc.). - Strong understanding of video production and post-production processes. - Excellent storytelling skills with a keen eye for detail. - Familiarity with motion graphics and visual effects. - Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects. - Experience with color correction and video post-processing. - Knowledge of different video formats and compression techniques. - Ability to take constructive criticism and iterate on work. - Portfolio showcasing previous video editing work. - Basic understanding of Adobe After Effects is a plus. - Attention to audio alignment and enhancement techniques. - Self-motivated with effective time management skills. - Willingness to adapt to new tools and workflows.
