Job Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled, well experienced Manager with a strong background in AWS cloud operations, Automation, Cloud Architecture, DevOps, and Security practices. The ideal candidate will lead a team with hands-on expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), leveraging tools like GitLab, Gitlab Runner, CloudFormation, Ansible, and/or Terraform to manage scalable, secure, and efficient cloud environments. AWS certifications are highly desirable, showcasing proficiency and commitment to cloud excellence.

Experience Level: 10-15 years (with demonstrable leadership experience)

Key Responsibilities

- Team Leadership and Management

- Lead and manage a team of DevOps Engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Plan and allocate resources to ensure timely delivery of projects and initiatives.

- Cloud Operations & Architecture

- Oversee the design, implementation, and management of scalable and secure AWS cloud infrastructures.
- Drive optimization strategies for large-scale EKS platforms.
- Ensure cloud environments are optimized for performance, cost, and scalability.
- Establish and enforce best practices for cloud usage, monitoring, and incident management.

- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

- Guide the team in building and maintaining automated infrastructure using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and GitLab CI/CD.
- Ensure the development of reusable, maintainable, and well-documented IaC templates.

- Platform Engineering

- Direct the development, automation, and management of CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or similar tools.
- Facilitate collaboration with development teams to ensure seamless deployment and integration processes.
- Oversee the implementation of monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure high system availability.

- Security and Compliance

- Ensure cloud infrastructure adheres to security best practices and compliance standards.
- Guide the implementation of identity and access management (IAM) policies, encryption mechanisms, and vulnerability assessments.
- Manage security incident management and response in AWS environments.

- Collaboration and Leadership

- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA, InfoSec, and IT to deliver cloud solutions.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, sharing best practices in cloud operations and DevOps.
- Stay updated with the latest AWS services, trends, and best practices, and communicate them to the team.

- DevOps and CI/CD

- Strong proficiency in GitLab/ Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline development.
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.

- Security and Compliance

- Knowledge of AWS security services and practices, including IAM, KMS, security groups, and NACLs.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR) and tools like AWS Config or Trusted Advisor.

- AWS Expertise

- Deep understanding of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, IAM, etc.
- Proven track record in managing production workloads on AWS.

- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

- Extensive experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
- Expertise in automating infrastructure deployment and scaling.

- General Skills

- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
- Hands-on development experience in Go/NodeJS is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Educational Qualification

- Engineering / Masters in Information, Computer, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

- Certifications:

- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional or Associate).
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
- AWS Certified Security - Specialty.
- CKA/CKAD.

- Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Dynatrace.
